Recently replaced my Surfaid leash, she's about 7yrs old and been awesome, love it.
Replaced it with a Dakine, a total piece of sh1t!!! Always kept straight, never coiled for storage the thing is like surfing with a python trying to constantly coil around your legs, or perhaps a cobra... Last surf was the final straw, every 2nd wave I'm trying to kick it out from around my ankle, even managed to wrap around both legs for one wave... Yep, that was awesome 
Anyway, I need 10" and ideally 6mm. As light as possible as I prefer no leash but always use one once there's a few bodies in the lineup...
Surfaid do a 10" but only 7.5mm.
9"6' is the longest they make the 6mm.
Suggestions and ideas please,

I went back to a knee leash because I couldn't find one I liked, used to use creatures but seems they have changed their design and the O&E kept hooking my feet.
I just looked at the surf aids, Might order one myself they look good. I'd guess the 9'6 is 10 ft when you add in the railsaver and ankle strap.
Maybe they could custom make you one?
Yep the 9'6 leash will stretch to 10'.... Getting them super thin won't happen as the weight of a longboard would snap them.
I use the creatures one and found them to be ok.....lately though I have gone with a shapers knee leash which I like,it's still.gets your feet sometimes, but for the majority it does its job
Totally, was stoked with my old one, but they don't make the 10' in 6mm anymore and I like the lightness.
I've ordered one of the XM Surfmore Comp-Lite from OS and i'll report back once I get it.
Meanwhile i'll keep using my patched up Surfaid till she breaks again 
@Chrispy, it only for the Log surfed in head high and under so its not under any real stress

When super crowded and head high I use an ocean and earth knee/calf strap - but I haven't used one in a fair while to be honest. As much as people hate the idea of no leggie. On a log you can beat it and is nearly essential.
The only time I hate the people who don't use them is on shorter boards and mid lengths. But that's another thread discussion. Hahaha.
I use a 9.6 on a 10' board without a problem, but I don't get to spend much time up front. Not because of the rope, it's more a lack of ability

On Sunday as I was (about) to paddle out at LM I noted a loose board heading towards the rocks I was in waist deep water I guess I could have turned around drop my board off and resuce the board before it washed all through the rocks and you know what? I said stuff it,it was a hipster chick not wearing a leggie and she got greedy riding the wave too close to the rocks anyway,so I watched it get hammered,some will dislike this post as much as I hate hipsters trying to look super cool with absolute no regard for other water useres safety 
I'm not directing this at you Leashes but some of these wanks need to be sorted.

Rubbish mate as I think Chrispy said they will stretch,I use a 9 on my 9.6 and 10 foot boards they all stretch.
I don't think most people ride without a leash "to be cool", its bloody liberating not wearing a leggie. I personally hate them.
But you've got to measure the situation, if the waves are faster and there's a crowd then yeah, you need to be considerate and wear one. But if there's 3 or 4 out and its mellow then ditch the leash, still be cautious and enjoy the freedom I still always take one and throw it on the beach just in case.
BTW, if the Hipster chic was a mc'hotty you totally would have rescued the board But is was actually Lacey wasn't it, having another fued
Personally, I would have rescued the board, responding to a duesh by being a duesh isn't the answer, I would have then handed over the board and politely pointed out that the conditions weren't really suitable for no leash... but thats just me
I don't really blame you Mac - it was her choice to go without and she knew the consequences of doing so.... (I would of grabbed the board - mostly to check out the board and have a chat to a nice young lady ) Personally I have the "rule" of if I lose my board and have to swim in twice in that session then I am either done and kooking it or I need to put the leash on.
In saying that - I am never at a busy spot like you qld folk are. As beautiful as the waves are up there, no chance in hell I would want to join that zoo. 
I think that sums it up....where we surf in QLD. At my beaches I will.or will not wear one depending on the crowd. It's very rare that I won't as I hate swimming for my board. And since I am learning all this walking and getting to the nose stuff it would be after every wave that I would be swimming for it
So yeh it feels good not wearing a leggie,but if I did that I would forever stand on the tail....put a leash on and I'm never near the tail unless I am forced to.
Oh I surf with a bloke who I.consider to be in the top 10 longboarders anywhere.... He never wears a leash and even he has taken folk out....
Sometimes I think peeps let their ambition outweigh their talent on what one thinks they can do.....but that is another kettle of fish
I reckon a knee leash is the go. Less tangling when walking the board. I got a 666 knee leash a few months back and its really thick. I prefer to use my thinner one unless the surf has got a bit more size.
I finally snapped by creatures of leisure knee leash after about 9 years last week. I grabbed a shapers knee leash coz of the availability and price - so far so good.
I actually prefer a leggy than not - I find I surf more conservatively without a leash as I don't want the swim...I progress further with a leggy on....all in the head I guess
Just to emphasise the point of how sh1t the Dakine is. I pulled out my 7+ year old Surfaid that was coiled up in the back of the van, purely there as a backup and not one tangle today. TK will vouch for how old it is, even has a bolt holding it together...
The Dakine is going in the bin 
last summer I pulled out my old Nick Stranger Island Energy from under mums house on Bruny Island - it had probably laid up the back untouched for 15years the Balin leg rope had degraded insitu so no length was longer than 80mm. aahh Balin are they still even around?

To be fair that thing was pretty epic, an antique for sure.

Have always used knee longboard leashes. I got a 10' O&E sup leash. Never coils up and has been great, best brand consistently.
Yeh it is thick, but it's for a log, it aint gonna slow you down. Don't even know it's there.
Get a thick one, into yah!
