I've often wondered what happened to Jason. I loved watching his surfing and had the pleasure of surfing against him in the late 90's a few times.
Some Bystrom footage of him surfing BIG Burleigh on a mauve McTavish is still some of the most elegant big wave surfing I've watched.

"No two words can describe our newest South Coast Family member @jasonblewitt .
He hails from an era of Longboarders that have inspired generations.
Jason is your quintessential gentleman in and out of the water.
He featured cover on the first ever issue of @pacificlongboardermagazine .
His been is countless historic Longboard movies by Chris Bystrom and more.
As well as obtaining many prestigious Australian surfing titles, His also produced countless board designs along the way with some of the industry's best.
Jason has been out of the limelight for a few years now, though still involved in the surf industry and surfing everyday, his fire has not yet dwindled.
We believe the heritage of surfing is always key and if you want to produce the best you have to create with the best.
Ian & Jase already have a specific concept in
mind along with other shapes in the works.
We truly can't wait to see what he will bring to the table and the modern day scene.
"We are so excited to welcome you onboard Jason and look forward to seeing what the future will bring!"

Yes he is as the benchmark back in the day. Didn't he move overseas indo somewhere and start a surf camp? Or am I thinking of someone else.

Dave Simons who also rode for McTavish back then went to Indo (or Telos Islands perhaps) with Sam Cornish from Cres'n'ed.
Not sure whether he's still there though. That was a lifetime or two ago.
