Spent last weekend in Newcastle on the new foreshore. Saw some guys on electric skateboards and they were making some serious speed. I figured they are expensive and you can damage yourself faster and harder so it's a no for me.

They are expensive and you can damage yourself, but huge fun, and after the above prang, although I had significant skin off, I felt good in an irresponsible way.
Although later as I was cruising along a bike path / toppings thing, looked at the hand controller and I'm doing 25km/h.
Wearing no padding, helmet etc.
Thought "You can hurt yourself in a car at 25 km/h"
Try to make myself wear the protective stuff now.
But huge fun when the weather's crappy, or there's no surf. I have a near suicidal addiction to sliding the back out on turns....

Was up on the Gold Coast that week . Had organised a board through Gold Coast surfboard hire - great service ( drop off and pick up from the front door ) . But very few waves to be had . AT least the water was warm - about 22 degrees from memory .Its around the 12 degrees here at the moment .
