After a five year search, no kidding, finally found one. I'm the guy who posted two years ago a McTavish Evo II and bemoaned the fact that none of the current models had the "small shortboard style boxlike" rails of the Blewitt and surfed a bit sluggishly as a result. I left McTavish boards as a result except for a Surftech Original and moved on to a Becker Model X and a Von Sol HPTC which are both superb. After a 10 year break from a Blewitt I'm really curious how it'll match up against those boards. In one of the photos I hope you can see the rail profile, and yes, it has a lot of rocker. I know you guys like photos so here's a few after cleaning it up a bit and adding proper fins. I'm a Yank but lurk here periodically.
Wow that JB is in perfect condition for a board of its age,can I ask what sort of money do they go for in the US?
Yes they are a good shape,I had one which was my first longboard coming off shorties about 10 years ago....though mine din't have the channel (like the Original model) that yours has...the old models had a different quality back then.
Hi, I paid $350US for it which was a bit steep but the person wouldn't take less and I didn't want to look for another five years. The photos make it look better than it is, it is yellowed some and there are quite a few pressures in the deck, non bad but still a lot. Had some minor rail dings, now it's watertight. Eager to ride it and see if it matches my memories of ones from years ago.
Congratulations Clubted (that would also make a good name for Ted the Kiwi's Indonesian residence
), that looks like a great pick up. Love your determination too. The five-year quest. I hope the board lives up to those memories. $350US still seems reasonable for even an older McT.... hard to find them even over here for that.
Now maybe you will find time to rake some of those leaves off that commendably lovely lawn. ![]()

I rode one of these back in the mid 90's. A guy in the longboard club had one. From memory it had a rounded pintail on it with 4 belly channels. It was a fair bit like the Original model. Surfed very loose for a 9 footer
Waiting 5 years is serious commitment, good work.
diverse do a Blewitt model in their modern vintage collection. Goes good 2

I don't reckon 350 for that board is steep at all. It looks pretty good ![]()
Had the JB Model went really well, only problem was that i weighed a liitle too much for that board hence the struggle of paddling in larger surf to get out.
Thanks for the commentary. Unfortunately we're going through a typical Spring period of no surf after a little run of early Souths. Then again it could be because I have a couple of new (to me) boards to dial in. I just picked up a custom Channel Islands Performer that's really unique, I'll post some pics later today if I can get to it.
350USD is about 600-630AUD and she's in good nick by the looks ![]()
Geez Pup...Way to many Mango insertions and Paw Paw enemas.....$350 US = $450 Aus.....glad your not my financial adviser..![]()

Here are some pics of my new (to me) Channel Islands, totally unique custom. It has the template from the Performer I which is a good all around board, but with a shortboard oriented bottom - slight dual concave in the nose to a fairly deep single concave through the middle to dual concave ahead of the fins and pretty deep v out the back, a fair amount of rocker throughout. I only caught one decent wave on it a couple of weeks ago before the wind tore it up but it carved like a butter knife. The person who sold it said he wanted a more traditional board, it was too high performance for him, I think this was a real score.
so good to have a breezer representing the good ol US of A
keep the pics coming, and some pics of your local would be awesome in in our where did you surf thread![]()
