anyone else been lucky enough to try one of these . Had mine about 3 weeks surfing in water around the 12 degrees mark -wear the vest under a 3-2 and I am warm as toast . Have tried the rip curl dawn patrol and flashbomb , billabong fusion and the anchor vests but this one is so much warmer , not to mention dryer .
Macs a tuff man. He could just wear that for our winter.

12 degrees you guys are hard core wearing a vest in those conditions,I don't get the concept of a vest with a hood or is it a layer thing?

The vests let you wear a 3-2 steamer all year round ( wear the vest under the steamer ) . Saves having to wear a 5-4 or a 4-3 which are bastard things to paddle in especially for people like myself that are not super fit . The hood joined to the vest is designed to stop the cold water flush down the neck . Has surprised me how well it works . Only down point - sh-t of a thing to get off when wet .
Not that hard core - surfed Saturday - vest , hood , 3-2 , booties , gloves - young girl swimming beside me with a camera just in swimming gear - made me feel very old .

Yep might not go down to well on the gold coast .
Down here this vest has saved me from the ice cream headaches I have been getting this winter just wearing the gath stack hat ??
