I always get water droplets sitting on my GoPro lens, generally right where my face is.
Any tricks to stopping this??
And heres my vid from this mornings surf at The Pines, Westernport.
All tips welcomed... Having trouble turning hard left.
Nice work with the vid. For the droplets problem, you could maybe try some Rain-X on the lens. You can get it at car accessories stores.
i got some rainx at home so i'll give that a whirl.
Hopefully get some better vids on a nicer day. Still fun though!
a drop of dishwashing liquid rubbed into the dome on the housing will give about an hour of protection - it forms a super thin film that water drops become a part of as they hit the lens.
For photos this film does ever so slightly alter the optics of the picture - but for video its not so critical- water drops hit the lens and appear to instantly just be absorbed into the picture.
The saliva trick works too.
i think the apple trick doesnt have enough longevity / convenience for in water use - but might be ok fro occasional spray sitatuations
awesome thanks, im going to try rubbing some dishwashing liquid on the lens first. see how that goes.
Thanks for the tips.
