Im getting the new sunova creek tr3 in sep.i also got them to put in a lift up handle.Anyone else in wa got a creek.
Dear Oldposs
I have an 8'7" Creek for the past few years. Fast and fun board with Cdrive fins. Not quite as stable as my 8'10" Speeed but close. Prefer the Speeed when in chop and waist to shoulder high and the Creek when shoulder to head high and fairly clean.
Cheers
Bob
Thanks Bob. I hope the creek might be able to turn a bit easy than the speed on the top turn. Love the speed thu.

That it will do. I suspect that if you like the Speeed you will love the way the Creek turns!

I have not really warmed up to using a full set of C-drives on a Creek.
I believe that the C-drives make the Creek slower to turn
The board has more than enough drive and the channels can already make the tail sticky in some weak conditions.
The fin change that really made a difference for me, was my standard old set of MF-1 sides mixed with a small center J-drive trailer.
The J-drive is only 3.75" high with a wide base and very small tip
It gives just the right amount of drift, to loosen up the tail in small to medium surf.

Hi Rick,
I suggest(*) you do the opposite:
Use C-Drive on the sides, they provide the hold. You can even go with the C-Drive twins.
But use a small central fin with a small base and rake, C-Drive in the rears can stiffen a lot a board. I used the smallest C-Drives as rears: grommets or trailer sizes.
(*) Well, my real suggestion would be Quobbas, of course :-)

I hear you colas, I have been a big fan of large sides with small trailer on many boards...
but I have several size C-Drive sets and the bigger sides made the Creek stiff and lifeless.... because of the channels, the board has more than enough hold with medium sized side fins.
I have tried other smallish centers without the same results as this tiny J-drive which seems to have just the right amount of hold and loose.
I would love to try a set of Quabba's... but they are outside my budget.
If you would like to send me a set of mediums, I'd be happy to try them ![]()
