Im currently on a 158lt x33 wide body Jp and looking to downsize to a 131 x 10 fusion JP
Im at an intermediate level
90kgs , reasonably fit
Mainly 2-3 ft waves and sometimes tiny beach break too
No option to test prior to purchase.
Would this workout ok or too great of reduction.
Any advice or comments are greatly apprciated

27 litres is a fair drop but theres so much goin on with different boards so its no biggie for a intermediate supstar ! Perseverance is the go paddle it when its really ****full !
Something like 9'2 Evoke , 148L and 32 wide would be ok .
Even better would be an ECS 9'5 or 8'10 Wideboy
I would push it and go the ECS 8'10 Wideboy
I had a similar drop in liters and am kinda the same size and an intermediate (90-95kg) (147l to 125l). I ended up with a 8'10" Sunova Steeze. It was tippy for a while (it is a fairly tippy board from the reviews I have read), but I perservered, and love it now. There are other shapes that are more stable though. I'm not sure about the JP, but I have heard that a Jimmy Lewis Destroyer or Super Frank are very stable boards at a lower literage-- I looked at those before my board came up for a good price used.
Yeah, definitely go shorter than 10'. Heaps of good suggestions already in the replies. I went from a 9'5 Allwave at 170l to an 8'6 evoke.
The 8'6 or 9'2 would be a good, reliable and cheaper option from my point of view.
My board progression since starting - 10'4, 10, 9'5, 8'10, 8'8 and now 8'6 - very gradual.
Of course width and shape varied and this plays a huge role in this and that depends on your style. By nature do you live glide and trim and hitting up smaller waves or are you finding you wanna go hard and aggressive or charge the bigger days?
My my opinion is step down gradually, you mention the waves you surf and sounds cruisy to me.
ECS Wideboy is a really good value board, I have had 2 - the 9'5 and an 8'10. 9'5 was as close to an all rounder as I have had. 8'10 was a weapon with some good quad fins in good beach breaks.
I found the 9'5 really stable in crap weather too which was a bonus.
Okay , The truth comes out . I also want to use as a windsup but has to be dual use with much more regular use as a sup .
131 suits as a windsup but the paddleboard may be a bit small as the 158 is still great fun all be it a bit big to do anything to special on
i might hold on to my cash and see if something slightly larger pops up.
Windsup is good fun when it blows , beats paddling against it . Give it a go. Even less crowded and just as much fun
