So just like most years I travel to the other side of the globe with ECS boards to surf expo in Florida. Each year Iv come across strange concepts for SUPs, some of them are, the motors etc, different/strange pointless shapes, the sup polo stuff, even "training wheels" they were two inflatable pieces that strap to tne rails to make the board more stable..
Last year there was a contraption that allowed you to use the SUP as a skulling rower... Like I would have thought it didn't really take off and wasn't there this year.
But the reason for my post... I saw this.. I wanted to try it at the demo day just to see what it was like.. So imagine your skiing like snow skiing with poles... But those poles are your paddles.. I'll try find the vid. But here's some pics I got..
Your thoughts?

This looks plain ridiculous.
As a more serious not Swedish technique guru Magnus Lindstedt fro crosswater.se has done a lot of research on how to get techniques from nordic skiing in to supracing

That's the bomb technique for getting into bumps on a downwinder.....but probably not efficient over a 10km flat course. Interesting how the un-weighting seems to work for SUP whereas the canoe guys swear by a steady ship...
I've hit one of those in a car once .. Skippy walks on water .
as for the rowing ..on a sup ?.
... I'm sure it's just an idea..at this time ..it works..
Mad inventors please leave sup alone!!
You stand on a board and you paddle
Its beauty is in its simplicity
Hahah Chris I know you have! Yeah but it's definitely worth a look. Probly heading back in January too
