WindSUPing

Are there any members here that windsup regularly? I'm interested to refine my rig to be lighter and more efficient. The modern fanatic ride sup rig is a better design but the mast and boom are both super heavy.

Recently I've discovered the pleasure of windsuping in less than 15knots in flat water or smooth surf. I have a 4.5m fanatic ride SUP rig and a much lighter 4.5m classic cica 1988 near to pin headed wavesail.

Any suggestions or yarns are most welcome.

I'm impressed by how quickly my friends have been able to mail the basics of windsurfing / sailing on these setups.

I'm quite an experienced wavesailor (prior to 2003), surfer, kiteboarder, dinghy sailor, etc.

Many thanks.

Wow that's a steep wave..

I used to like sailing my old 10'10" Naish Nalu SUP board..

I found it's the fin that makes the big difference especially if you want to stay upwind.. Most stock dolphin shape fins just don't cut it.

No.. that's not an antenna on my head..
