When my girlfriend and I paddle, I tend to lag behind her and I'm not sure why.
We tend to paddle on flat water.
We swap boards/paddles and she is still faster.
I am 20 kg heavier. Is this the reason or do I have bad technique?
Cause you need to harden the fark up.
No way my Mrs would beat me ![]()
I was hoping that was not the case :(
HTFU probably the answer.
Observation I often make of newbie paddlers - the paddle is meant to go in the water.
Not splash on the top, flail around next to the board.
Sink the ****ing blade below the surface.
Test of what we are allowed to post there.....
Two people being of similar fitness and technique the heavier person will always be slower on flat water. That is why most successful people n SUP racing are aroung the 5'5 height and between 70-80kg.
No hope for us fat pricks.

Hmmmmm, then maybe you should be paddling with your wife and NOT your girlfriend!!!!!
Serpeant got to agree with helmy on this, the best place to be paddling with a chick is behind, espically if she is fine, also 20kg heavier dude you should be rockin a bigger paddle or a bigger board.
Anyway you know what they say if your girlfriend wins on the board your going to win later in the bedroom that night. Keep your stamina for that. Chicks love to beat their boyfriends at sport.
