Get ready to race!

Hi Crew, The 17th of Nov is fast approaching! We have a huge day of racing planed on the Saturday backed up by a SUP surf comp and expression session the next day.

The weekend is going to be insane!... Imagine Coolum main beach packed with festival goers and with SUP racing right in the middle of it!....Nuts!.... Followed by the sickest band line up on the same night!.... Then backed up with a SUP surf comp / expression session the next day!

There is some serious cash and world wide recognition up for grabs for the fastest paddlers!

Who will beat the internationally recognized and reigning champ "Kelly Margetts"
Will it be....Beau Obrian... Lincoln dews... Paul Jackson... Marcel De Paula... Paul Jones.. or even the Keck.

A lot of water has passed under the bridge or should I say "boards" since these guys last met at Coolum so lets see what they got!!

For all us mire mortals don't be put off by these guys! This race accommodates for all skill levels. It is all about participation and experiencing the rush of paddling in a proper governed race environment.

Surfing Queensland along side with the Sunshine Coast SUP Club and the crew at Ocean Addicts are going to make sure that this race and surf comp are facilitated to the highest level.

The master Woogie is race director and will ensure that the course is set to a standard that is excepted around the world.

Dog Man from Surf Tech and PT are on the mics broadcasting this event to the masses!!

There will be some serious media exposure plus hoards of people packing the beach over these couple of days. So If you are connected to the industry or just want to experience a major SUP event then don't miss this weekend!

Paddle Hard!!!

Should be a kracker , dont forget Travis Grant , he is looking faster and faster at training. Also my favourite Jake the Snake Jensen is a big chance , Kelly Margaritaswould have to be favourite and hes looking good too. But watch out for the JJJJ,s to shake up the scene into the future. Jake Jensen is already right up there and his big brother Jayden has started to get into it , cant wait to watch these two racing togeather.

Read this twice and still can not find my name.. haha..

Don't forget you all are paddling for a potential $1000. Get your regos in before the last week. Costs more to enter otherwise...

To Register:

To enter you need click the link below to the Surfing Qld Website. Entry fee is $50 per event. Competitors who enter both components of the event (racing and surfing) will receive a $25 dollar discount after the conclusion of competition. Please enter both components via the Surfing Queensland website at $50 each. Surfing Queensland will then refund the $25 to each competitor.

http://www.surfingqueensland.com/events.php

Select the event you wish to enter and read the details from their site. You must choose the division you wish to race or surf in. For example you must choose either the Opens over over age divisions in the race or for the surf you must choose either the open or over 10 foot surf board class. These are distinctly different comps so read which one you want to do.

As a bonus: The top three places in the over age group men's race will get a wild card entry into heat 2 of the open men's race.

Long range forecast is for a cracker of a weekend. No rain in sight one week either side on the farmers )elders Weather) website.

This also means it will be a top night at the concert. Limited Tickets left available through the club so get in early. Once gone they are all gone and you will have to pay twice the cost at the gate if they have any left.

Surf Events on Sunday

Woogie has organised a cracker for the open class. This format is so that all surfers do not hold back and just go hard to show us what they can do. You can still win best wave by linking moves together but also can try for the point score system that is based on the most progressive moves. This way the surf doesn't have to always be concerned about linking up a few good turns for a good wave score. They go for it and might just try for one all out impressive move on a wave.
The Woogie has a complete system in place for this so it will be great to see what the surfers can do. All surfers in this class will have two 30 minute heats to show their potential.

The over 10 foot class will be judged on a traditional format with heats, reps, semis and finals.

Looking forward to the weekend and seeing as many SUPers there as possible.

Race format is going to be great. don't miss it.
