Warm water down wind paddling...
Beats cold water paddles... Cold feet, wetsuits, or warm feet with sloshy wet socks!
Option to wear warm clothes, but you need to avoid a dip in the water.
Hawaii for me next winter.
At least the cool water surf has been pumping lately! ![]()
Justin and I did a down-winder today in boardies.. We even had to stop and strip off our long sleeve tops because we got so hot.. Winter in Melbourne.. It's just as good as Hawaii .. ![]()

Ohh it's true guys we had Board shorts on and several min's in we where roasting and had to strip down. Not like "Magic Mike "strip but still a strip was needed. Yes PT as you know i do love wearing my shorts but I may draw a line at the South Pole. Shame we didn't get the conditions we thought we'd get but it was still a pleasant paddle.
Yesterday morning when we hit the water it was -1, so todays 2' felt balmy. It is only cold for the first 5 mins and then when you get moving its fine. The cold hits again when your feet hit the concrete of the carpark at the end of the session. Still only wearing leggings and long sleeve compression top with boardies over the top.
First time i've ever worn gloves and booties surfing was yesterday morning. Almost considered wearing my diving wettie!
