Really windy and humid here at Waikiki,just surfed pops,swell picking up.Just saw a flight of stealth bombers take off,locals reckon that's as close as they have seen them.all navy ships heading to sea.Sand bagging the hotel,and we have been advised to stock up on water and food.Supposed to fly out tomorrow,that could be interesting.Local news are showing Waiamea, Sunset and Pipe,not really getting any swell in there yet.As this is the "land of litagation" all tours and hire cars are cancelled.Itried to hire a car to drive to the North Shore no luck,they said the Kam highway might be closed.The officials are taking this really serious,all schools closed as all tourist attractions (Pearl Harbor,Waiamea Park) now it's just wait and see.

How's the food over there???ABC shops here are doing a roaring trade,everyone stocking up on water and food.Easy to pick the Aussie their stocking up on beer and chips.
This storm moving really slow and keeping us in suspense. Even if it ends up being relatively minor, it will still be our closest call in decades. The trouble is that we have had so many warnings over the years that people get lax. Chances are good that we won't get it as bad as Houston or New Orleans did simply because of topography, but we could be without power in many areas for weeks if the winds stay strong.

We stocked up yesterday expecting the worst, I think that Hurricane Lane is sponsored by Safeway 
The forecasts keep changing but it could get pretty wild, here is a little video from today:
Most of the shops in Waikiki are closed and sandbagged,even the ABC shop.Just trying to find out if Qantas is flying tomorrow.Blue planet,exiled and greenleader stay safe guys.
