Hey. The idea of moving back to Tas is being floated in my house lately and I'm after any info on the sup surfing scene down there. I used to bodyboard there before I left but unsure of mellow longboarding waves. I've also turned into a bit of a sook with cold water too. That bit doesn't appeal to me at all. Cheers

Hey mate, plenty of mellow longboarding waves around the south east and although the water can be cold in winter it's not a problem on a SUP as you are rarely wet, will work up a sweat and need the odd dunking to cool off. Spring suit is more than enough for summer and 4/3 steamer + booties in winter.

Hey,
I'm on the East coast of Tasi, although I hire Sups for calm water paddling at Freycinet, Coles Bay. There is always people surf suping on the nearby surf beaches. Definately getting popular in Tas.
Freycinet Paddle Boards :)
I haven't found long mellow waves yet, but defo enough decent rides to keep me keen!
I only know of a couple of the more popular spots, Clifton being my favourite....there must be more !
