Heading to tannum sands and 1770 in may. Any tips/advice for beginner sup surfing up that way pls?
Ta
Send Brenno a PM, he is the mayor of 1770 and Agnes
Also make sure you do the scooteroos mini Harley bike tour in you free time, its awesome.
No waves at Tannum, but Agnes gets some nice waves. A paddle down wild cattle creek is nice, or the Boyne River.
Tannum has some slop if the swell gets serious to the South. 1770 headland is nice on a not so windy day. Paddle out on the last of the outgoing, surf the low, come back on the incoming. Main beach Agnes varies a lot. Nice on an ESE. Forget the point if it's crowded and you're a beginner. Head a bit further up for a couple of nice breaks. There's also Workmans, Chinamans and Springs Beach. Springs is beautiful if you don't mind a hike down the boardwalk from the carpark. Worth doing for a few hours of fun. ![]()
