Looks pretty dam cold to me!!!http://www.grindtv.com/surf/blog/23568/surfers%20in%20alaska%20ride%20waves%20for%20an%20astonishing%20five%20miles/
For most surfers, a really long ride might last about 20 seconds and cover 50-60 yards, so imagine the thrill experienced by a group of standup paddlers recently when they rode waves for a distance of nearly five miles -- amid the splendor of the pristine Alaskan wilderness.
No SUPs, but a great video of the Severn Bore in the UK and way warmer than Alaska.
If only this was happened on the Yarra...
Love to go to Alaska...shortly I hope - have a mate who moved to Anchorage 5 mths ago so a few of us are just trying to work out a game plan.
We tried to surf the seven bore back in 96 when we were super slim, fit and healthy....thought my 6'1" by 18 * 2 3/8 was just the ticket - could not have been more wrong. Once you put yr 5/3 on with hoodie and boots its all over before it even begins!! Would be fun to do on a big floaty SUP -you would ride it until yr legs gave way!!!
