Had a great day at Lorne Point today with the Mana 10ft, I spent 2.5hrs learning to surf all over again being an old knee boarder so this is the first big effort to stand up paddle surf.
Started on the 1ft monsters then moved to the 2 footers in a section of beach with no other boards or swimmers, I hate the idea of wacking someone when I fall off. 2 hrs later I am catching everything, cruising the line and turning to catch waves quickly without falling off, great I thought.
Advanced to the line up with much confidence and caught some nice 3ft left breaks at the point and was able to catch some better waves, avoided swimmers and other boards and even made some turns. FINALLY at 58 I learnt to surf standing, YEAH I thought and the wife was on the beach watching, I think??
Did you see me catch all those waves babe, yes I did she answered. I had a great time I said and finally was aable to catch waves like the old days, yes you did she said. How did I look once I got to the bigger waves, was it like when we were younger???
NO you looked like an old man learning to surf she said! No I answered I caught some good waves at the end once I practiced so some must have been good?? No you still looked like an old man learning to surf with a bit of a belly not a six pack like you use to have, she said!!
Thanks babe love you too!!!!!!!!
Awesome and well done for reaching that goal.
Just keep SUP'ing, you will soon flatten that belly out. ![]()
