Hi everyone, had a great run of waves last week at a beach I used to surf a lot back in the eighties, only small but great shaped waves with beautiful clean water.

Sundays surf turned out a little expensive as I broke my spare Star-board Enduro paddle when paddling for my last wave of the day. There was a slight offshore wind, nothing to strong and I had not even caught the wave when the paddle shaft broke in two and the clamp also exploded.

The shaft broke right where the two would have met just below the end of the clamp. And yes there was plenty of overlap.

Anyone else had an issue like that?

I say it was my backup paddle as a few weeks ago I also snapped my one piece Star-board Enduro. I believe that one died taking on the rail of my Sunova REVO on a late take off gone wrong. No marks on the board and I did not feel anything until I stood up to paddle back out, only to have the feeling of holding a limp noodle

Two dead Enduros...

I had been looking around for a new one piece Enduro, but they are nowhere in OZ. Just ordered another two piece from Surf FX to tide me over until the one piece ones arrive in stock in a few months.

They are great paddles, just hope that's all the breaking I do for awhile.

Cheers.

Steve.

Hi everyone, just need to give a shout-out to the guys at Surf FX in Queensland.

As mentioned I ordered a new paddle on Sunday and it arrived perfectly packed at lunch time today. Interstate delivery in one and a half working days, fantastic service.

Thanks so much Surf FX and anyone down here in OZ should check them out next time you are look to buy a few SUP items.

Cheers.

Steve.

yes them broken alright ,but fixable in some way ,
I sold my enduro starboard paddle as I knew it was just time before I broke it ,very light and lots of carbon but thin
fix for a spare and go get another one ,thats what I would do .a wave fixed paddle .

Surf Fx is great - full stop. Stand up or otherwise. In fact, I don't think I've even bought any SUP stuff from them? but everything from longboard fins, leashes etc to fins/flippers for body boarding.. oh, and a 9'6" foamie longboard. I use them more than any other 'bricks and mortar' surf shop. Granted, they're 10 min from where I work. But always amazing service. Even just buying wax, you're made to feel like a valued customer!
