Hi all
late Aug I am doing a solo trip to Merimbula with my 14 & 10 ft boards for 5 days and know the area reasonably well and staying at Short Point. Intention is to surf the bar, head to Pambula river mouth and go up stream and look for some quiet beaches toward Tatura.
On the way home I was wondering if there are any good Sup spots from Eden to Lakes Entrance ie Cann River and beyond or is the coast line not that spectacular in that part of the world???? Looks like flat fishing spots on the Parks Website?
The rivers that flow into the lakes could be fun places to paddle. Some of them stay deep for quite a while.
Marlo is worth checking out.. and also Cape Conran.
Here's some pictures from.. "My drive to Merimbula pics" .. www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/Stand-Up-Paddle/SUP/My-drive-to-Merimbula-pics?page=1
did 7 week trip recently from arrawarrra to bay islands ( great ocean rd ) - stayed at Marlo in that area - Snowy mtn river mouth - good paddle
How about Mallacoota and Genoa?
Mallacoota is great and check out Bastion point while you're there.

Hi Dave you must stop at Mallacoota awesome place
I flew to Merimbula once on Rex airlines from Sydney . We flew along the coastline most of the way , it was amazing and would make an incredible surf road trip.
Hi Dave,
There are quite a few rivers in East Gippsland that a good for flat water. Mitchell, Nicholson, Tambo, Betka & Genoa (Haven't paddled the snowy yet).
And plenty of lakes that you can access from Eagle Point, Paynesville, Metung & Lakes Entrance. Lake Tyers is pretty cool & you can access it at Nowa Nowa. Also Mallacoota inlet, Gypsy Point. I'll PM with more details.
Some say Lake Tyers is the prettiest of the lakes. One of the north arm reaches up to Nowa Nowa where there is easy access not far from the highway.

Is it signed at a turnoff on the Hwy?

When coming from Bruthen, turn off the highway to the Nowa Nowa township, then just before Mingling Waters Caravan Park turn left into Launching Rd to the carpark & boat ramp. After the paddle you could try a Mingling Waters burger to sate the appetite.
