No stringer?
Epoxy don't use stringers.... normally. No real composite construction like a windsurfer and very easy to separate the layers
Sunova's are built to flex quite a bit to absorb a big hit without snapping.... but everything has a point where it will fail.
Must have been a proper whallop!

No, a lot of EPS + epoxy boards have stringers. Some also have reinforced rails (carbon, wood, ...) that act as stringers
Sunova has balsa rails that act as stringers. www.flickr.com/photos/sunova_surfboards/5357080928
Any board can snap in two, even in small waves. Be at the wrong place at the wrong time, and the forces of water can be enormous, especially on long shapes with wide nose and tails. A good rider tries to not put the board in harm's way when going out or in wipeouts.
Carbon rails on this one. Not many small waves down here and the shore break is a killer. 6 ft yesterday on the high tide. I'd love to here from the owner as to where it broke as it may have traveled along the coast for a bit
A mate of mine snapped that board at Big Left Flinders around 26th April.
Interesting it was found at Kilcunda a bit of a journey.
This is the 2nd Sunova he has snapped in half

Could be it as it's pretty weathered
Have snapped 2 x 10fters in that exact same location on the board, cyclone swell shore break was one and in a big swell on a reef break the other. Looks like a longish board, is it 10ft?
Have heard people talk about Sunova longboards snapping ( a few gave them the nick name 'Snapova') but not heard or seem much about the SUP's.
I loved both boards (diff brands) but after snapping 2 x 10fters putting them in places they dont belong I have decided to stay away from them as i just cant help myself ![]()

Here is the other half.
Not the best when it breaks with a 1 km paddle in
You might get a trade in on it (slightly damaged )![]()

Snapova) quote of the day!!! Flame suit on![]()
Ha ha no offence meant, dont want to bag any brands, as the guys above have pretty much said boards breaking is just part of the game ![]()
Its broken so far forward it would be an easy rebuild.
13-16kg EPS, reshape and vac bag on more balsa - its all staggered so would be a nice irregular join.
Who missing a half? Found at Cuttlers near Kilcunda. Surprised by the build.

That's a bummer. Hopefully they got the other half and were able to throw it in the trash instead of leaving it at the beach.
