Is there a shark sighting ap in common use? I found one for Andriod called Dorsal. Any others being used?
There's a notification you can get on Face Book which tells you where they are . It's called Dorsal Shark Alerts. There's also another one called "Shark Alerts"
I wouldn't suggest following them though as it starts to freak you out a bit. .There was even a big bull shark spotted in Bonville creek at Sawtell today which is where I paddle in the holidays. Normally a shallow entry to the sea. This one appears to have entered and been living there for a while.
I've seen quite a few sharks (whalers, whites and grey nurse) while freediving-spear fishing, and can say it's not the ones you see that are generally a problem. If they really wanted you, you'd have no chance while in the water.![]()
What about this image from the Doctor yesterday.
Following a swell with no tail fins showing?
I'm thinking Flipper and one of his friends, with knowing nothing about this photo beforehand.
Who'd want a shark app? A great way to talk yourself out of leaving the house.
In Ballina you just watch the chopper for real-time updates. If it does one circuit near you then you pay attention. When it does two and some guy is waving at you, it's about then when you start wondering why you haven't seen flipper for a while.
