Who is going to this event? From earlier conversations a lot of SPSC crew are going to Forster.
Anyone looked at places to stay?
Sure my girlfriend will be stoked when I tell her I have planned a romantic trip for Valentines weekend![]()
Yep - I plan to go. should be a great event.
Spoke to the organizer and there are quite a few entrants already in. ![]()
Yea so the plan is:
Newcastle SUP club is running the event. So the judging will be on a rotation system. All divisions will be ran on Saturday with finals Sunday. Prize money for 1st 2nd 3 rd each division plus prizes from exhibitors.
If you would like to display your gear at a 3x3 marquee its FREE if you provide comp prizes.
As this was organized on late notice and clashes with Forster event the plan is to try have it go smoothly but will need your help ! Next year will be bigger & better but still have to Start somewhere
I just cant wait to take the local ECS crew on. I have been doing some serious secret training on my new weapons. Bet you all I am the only one to smash the fat outer bank, glide through the 20 feet deep hundred yard channel, and belt that shore break closeout! See ya there!

Oh, they wouldn't let me into Kurri Kurri pool with the paddle, so I had to hit Minmi breakwall. Hopefully that white and his mate Tiger that have been cruising have helped eliminate some of the guys practicing on boards that are too small to stand up and paddle?

Na, my new secret quiver turned out to be plastic rotary moulded dogs. I had them recycled into decorations for a SUP float at the Mardi Gras.
Totally breaks my heart considering how many hours I have been putting into refining my paddle style on the Hunter River at Maitland past what was Marist Brothers (Buggerers evicted me before changing the name to a sweetener). Oh well, let's hope the bass come on up Dungog. Sure beats the paranoia of losing a couple of legs to Lenny's mate from Redhead?
Great weekend of SUP surfing, and great to see such a high level, especially the young groms - Harry Maskell was a standout in both the juniors & the Open Mens - even scoring 2 -10's in the first round. Unsure of the results of the juniors and over 50's.
The announcer regularly made reference to high standard.
Great turnout with over 40 entries - and for SUP to be included in a main stream WQS event.
A young guy to watch is Josh Stretton ripping on his little Hokua..
