Out of curiosity, 1) what's SUPWA membership going to cost & 2) will there be credit card or cash facilities on Sunday?

Hi Juddy, SUPWA membership is $70 this includes membership of Surfing Australia. If Your already a member of Surfing Australia i believe its $30 to join SUPWA. Can pay cash on the day or deposit money via electronic transfer into SUPWA bank account. No credit card facilities available on Sunday.

Cheers Chris

Hi guys,

Well done to Greg and the rest of the crew for getting the Assoc up and running.

Bummed we couldn't come along on the day and bring some shiny new demo toys to paddle. I'm sure there will be plenty of our brands at the launch if you ask nicely. :)

I hope you guys get some decent weather. Someone send a ranger to the Gold Coast as it's been raining cats and dogs here since before we arrived

See you all on our return from annual leave, refreshed and ready to go hard again. Have a great paddle!

Thanks Darren, it's a shame you and Todd can't be there as you have been instrumental in getting some momentum happening here in Perth over the past 2 years. We'll miss you on Sunday. Some good events on the horizon though when you get back.

Looking like fantastic weather for the SUPWA Launch tomorrow.

Just loading the vans up with 20 plus demo boards, we have got 14 ft Race and downwind boards, 12'6" BOP, Race and touring, a range of allround boards, wave boards right down to 8'0" x 28, Inflatables and slicks. Should cover most paddlers.

Also have some short paddles for the younger crew.

Great effort to Greg and the crew getting events happening for the next two weekends. Then the weekend after the Whalebone has a race at Cott as well.

See you all at Bicton Baths tomorrow afternoon.

Just returned from the demo at Bicton. Having never ridden a SUP previously i demo'd a Coreban 10 footer twice. First time out and i loved it, fell off into the river and lost me sunnies Second time didnt fall off and really didnt want to give it back. 30 mins later im thinking about asking about the price.. There was a wide range of boards for demo, and some really helpful people.

Thanks to everyone that came down to the SUPWA launch and family demo day. The weather was very kind and we had well over 100 SUP people come down and demo a huge range of boards. Thanks to Ian from Stand UP Paddle Sports, Mike from the Stand Up Surf Shop, and Adam from Coreban. I think the guys from 2nd wind were there too.
Many thanks to the committee (and wives), manning the BBQ, signing new members up and talking all things SUP.
It was a great day!

Cheers guys
Greg

As has already been said it was a top arvo, and the turn out was beyond all of the committees' expectations. The sign up rate for new membership was great, and the interest shown in membership by a huge number of crew was very encouraging indeed.
If anyone needs a membership application form , email me and I can get one to you.
But one thing that hasn't been mentioned yet were the amount of kids and teenagers that were out there paddling - unbelievable !!

I'll post a heap of photo's later today.

Anyone that may have picked up a carbon YOB Australia paddle by mistake please let me know.
