First time I've done this one. What happens with the car shuffles? Just work it out with others on the day? In my case I have one car with racks, which Candice can't drive because it's a manual so at worst I'll need to drop off both boards and maybe get a lift back to the start afterwards to pick up my car then drive back and get the boards. If the boys start first, I'm thinking of cruising the 5km too just to make it simpler.

BTW, how much handicap do we get for 17'4" boards compared to 14'? No big deal as I'm not at the pointy end of the results, just nice to know. Bit of a rough penalty though given 2-3' of those feet aren't in the water unless I have 20 knots behind me.

Greg would need to clarify how much it would affect your handicap, I just punch in the numbers and he does the smoke and mirrors bit.
I may of sorted out your car shuffle problem though, check your messages.

Well numbers are looking great for the SUPWA Bridge to Bank race with 21 teams entered already.
We need a female paddler to complete one more team. So if you know of a female paddler who may be interested in paddling please let me know.
Cheers

As I don't use facey (gave that poison up ages ago) I can't respond to Greg on RaceSplitter to register a team - so I'll try to register via this route.
Can someone please add Darren Marshall 14' and Emily Willett 14' to the start list?
Thanks

No worries Emily.
We will put a post up here on Seabreeze on Saturday regarding the races final details.

Hi Snowie

I will have Luke's board trailer on Sunday and hopefuly we should have another to transport the boards back from Perth to Fremantle/Pt Walter.

This event is to encourage our newcomers, who may only have a surfboard rather than a raceboard. So we use the handicap to ensure they can be competitive. It's our main fun event, a very cruisey race.

*Stimo used his 17' DC Flatwater board to great effect last season. Galvo decided to cut the 3' he wasn't using off his 17'

........cruisey race.......

That sounds like an oxymoron if ever I have heard one.....

but yeah I think it is a great concept and fun is obviously what it is all about, I am wondering if I might do better on my 9' Stun Gun, I have paddled that a lot more than my race board in recent Months but 8k's will be hard enough on a 14'er.

Hey Tighty, I reckon go the Stun Gun mate, you're way to quick on that 14' razor blade you were paddling last week !!

I agree, go the stun gun. In fact get rid of that dc14 altogether and pass it on to a fellow northern suburbs paddler at an insanely cheap price to someone like....me!

Great to have the trailers. Thanks guys. Just wanted to see what the penalty might be for interests sake. There might be a little bit of advantage in the 17'er but really it is just a joy to cruise around on it provided the headwind isn't too severe. Cuts 14'ers off at corners real nice too but they seem to like the wash.

I don't know about that it seems to have slowed down since I have had it, I think the motor might have been neglected a bit, it was coughing and spluttering last week and only just made it to the finish line.

Done just that Joey thanks to Jenkz but she hasn't contacted me yet! Maybe she has read all the stupid comments I post and changed her mind ?

More importantly a question to the SUPWA Gods of racing can we confirm a start at Stirling Bridge yet looks that way with prodominately south winds ?
