pretty good turn out. heaps of new people.

look forward to getting to know them better.

personal pick on the demo boards.

the 8' 10 fanatic fun wave- paddles so fast and straight for a small board

micks new 14 lahui kai is real nice

dc 14

the jamie mitchell 12'6. pretty fast and great stability. would be the board i would paddle in a midday start 'onshore' bop style race.

and lastly the new fanatic 14' 'flatwater' board. seriously fast and smooth. probably the fastest none canoe style 14' sup around. would only suit small ocean conditions i think.

cheers

Im pretty sure the surftech JM's are made alongside all their other production range. Am I correct in thinking there will be 2 different construction types availabe from Surftech? The custom JM boards are made here on the Gold Coast

i've talked to justin a bit, he hasn't mentioned anything about that. i got the impression that surf tech did a special strong build for the jm's!!!!!!

I thought they were going to do a carbon version??? but I just checked their website and it doesnt look to be so......man have they culled some boards. Looks like no Candice boards, Takyarma is one length as apposed to the 4 or so they had, Gerry's range is modified, the biggest range is the "Laird"s...

Well done to SUPSA for a great day, I think it would of taken me 6 months
to be able to test ride as many boards as I did today. So many nice boards!

surftech do have a new range of those fibre flex type boards. a candice model in there plus some 'shorter' jm performance surf style sups.

they have them at the shop

Are those now discontinued models? Surftech's website seems to be about 12 months ahead of the Oz market.....or they need to sort it?

Congrats to the crew at SUPSA and the local companies that supported the day. Its the first one of these types of demo days I've been to and it was great to be able to have a go on a few of the boards one after another and get a good comparison. With a bit of sunshine it would have been even busier. I was dragging few kids around and the Aqua Glide pontoon was also something that kept the monkeys entertained.

I was trialling mostly the 12'6s and particluarly liked the Lahui Kai although there was no board I didn't like.

Cheers
Herb

The SUPSA Sign On/Demo Day was a huge success. With the weather a little suspect, we saw close to 100 people from all paddling backgrounds and abilities. We signed on nearly 50 members and 34 of those are first timers. Looks like a very exciting year for SUPSA.
A huge thanks to all that helped out on the day. Richo for the early set-up and "Master Chef" Hammo on the tongs.
For all those involved in the brand displays, you made the day just what it was about. Thanks to Sondra and Jen of Lahui Kai and Power Paddle Trainer, Rob Cribb of Water Shack who also had the kids looked after on the Aqua Slide Mat, Scotty Penwarn with the Starboard gear, Justo Mitchell backing in a little later with the Surftech JM range boards, Dale and Rob with the DC Race boards, and Jacko for being Jacko! If I have missed anyone, its not on purpose, just was a little hectic as we didn't expect such a huge reponse.
Once again, thankyou to all who helped out, showcased their products and SUPSA welcomes all our new members and families!
