The Stand Up Paddle Demo Tour will be in Hobart and the East Coast from the 26th of December to the 2nd of January.

We will be down at the Carlton River Mouth at 8.30am on Monday the 27th.

Tuesday to Friday we will be in the Coles Bay / Bicheno area so if you will be in that area give us a ring and we can hopefully catch up 0458 037 010.

Saturday and Sunday mornings we will be running demos around Hobart (probably Sandy Bay (great for trying race boards and beginners) and Kingston Beach or Carlton River mouth).

Thats all starboard stock. Big wide boards for big fat lazy mainlanders. Hence no interest here in the land of the hardcore

Gotta be better than an ugly, fat tailed, home made 8'11. Or a downwind board that looks like a copied Javelin

Get down to the nearest demo tour and try the new Starboard 2011 range out. So many options from short SUPs to big SUPs. You might just be surprised

yes those boards are very wide, way to wide for anyone whom has surfed. They are like standing on a cargoship. Guess starboard do focus on the unskilled and over weight. Personally I would be embarrassed to own one, and im an old bastard. Starboard are focusing on clogging up the waterways with kooks and people that really should not be in the water over their heads, especially with a big stick in their hands

Starboard really need to lift their game. And you do to DJ, next you will be having a go at blacks, jews, ****s, wogs and chicks

Just so you know.. A lot of my best friends are Tasman'iacs and they are the first to come up with the two head jokes.. Also that little [] means I'm joking and most people don't mind a joke every now and then.. My last job took me there (Tassie) to live for a while and I love the place.. btw.. I think Starboard are doing a great job and they make great boards for both experts and kooks.. We can't all be experts and I think most experts started off as a kook when they first started.. ..Also you can be a kook and still do the right thing.. just as you can get a expert doing the wrong thing and to me that's worse.

Could not disagree more. Yes starboards are wide (some of them) and they have heaps of volume and are way too easy to surf and paddle - Oh hang on, thats a good thing isn't it ? Starboard sups are aimed at a particular market I believe, and that is the people who want fun and easy boards to paddle and surf in all conditions and don't want to go through the pain of spending the first 3 months constantly falling off and getting completely frustrated. I have owned and ridden many starboards as have many of my mates and we are all surfers first and foremost and have never had any complaints about the generous dimensions of the boards. Some people wanna ride small and skinny sups and thats great for them but many more of us just wanna ride comfortable sups that in my opinion surf just as well as anything else out there in the right hands.

Oh yeah - if the unskilled and old and overweight are out on starboards then they will become skilled and fit a lot quicker than the dreamers and tossers who are out in lineups on under-volumed sups and spending more than half the session falling off, wasting waves and causing havoc to everyone around them.

Guys,

Have just firmed up the dates and times for the last two Starboard SUP demos in Tasmania.

They will be Saturday morning (yes, I know it is New Years Day) at 8.30 to 11 (or later if conditions are good) at Long Beach, Sandy Bay.

The last one will be at Carlton River Mouth at 8.30 on Sunday the 2nd, finishing time will depend on conditions and numbers.

Hope to see you then prior to heading back to the mainland.

Looking forward to catching up with crew in SA and Vic over the coming weeks, then up to NSW and QLD.

Thanks,

Ian

None of the Tasmanian's I met had two heads. When meeting Tasmanians I always look at what they are wearing and then look at their feet.

I undersood Tasmanians have webbed feet and wore homemade clothing - similar to people from Hastings in Victoria.

Last year I was in Tassie for the first time - beautiful part of the world - I happened to meet a couple of them. One told me he was from Hobart. When I asked him if he knew Andy Muirhead, he just looked at the ground and started kicking little rocks. I don't think he had webbed feet, but I'm pretty sure his mom made his jeans - I could tell from the bad stitching around the pockets.

I met a Victorian just the other day. He had a webbed costum on, bit like spider man. He could only go straight ahead on the waves. He said the costum was meant to help him turn the board, Geez, god only knows. I Realized his board was to wide to turn when I saw the brand. Poor bugger. He said it was a big problem in Victoria, Supe'rs not being able to turn the board. The smile face absolves me from any bad stuff
