Surfing SA will hold the 2011 Sth Aust SUP Surfing Titles on Sat. 26th Feb. on the south coast. Meet at Middleton Point at 7.00am.
SA SUPCrew will have a FREE BBQ for members & there will be demo boards available from Cutloose & Onboard.
We are anticipating this will be a huge social day with some fun events running alongside the competitive heats. The major focus for the day is to showcase our sport as a family friendly one & we encourage paddlers of all skill levels to attend to make the day a success.
Competitors must be Surfing SA or SA SUPCrew members to cover insurance, membership will be available on the day.

Well done for organising - but $50 bucks for each division plus surfin SA membership - makes for an expensive surf
Ageed Russh, it is expensive. The Surfing SA charge covers event management & qualified judges payment for the day. It does seem to be inline with all their other events in SA although I did notice Surfing Vic only charge $33. Hopefully we can reduce these fees in the future.
REGISTRATION FOR THE EVENT MUST BE DONE ONLINE AT www.surfingaustralia.com/sa/ BY THIS WED. 23rd Feb.

I think the same as you rushh.I know of four people that won't be making it
Why cant Windsurfing SA, Surfing SA ,SUP SA,be one membership.
I know what your going to say, not the same sports, but we are all in SA
You might get more people coming to your events
Dont take this the wrong way Surfing SA ,just like to now what everyone is thinking![]()
Apparently not......
Get this for a joke, if they don't want to affect the order of placings for the state team. Ha
Anybody would think that 20 people are competing to go to the nationals...
Last year they rang every competitor to go to the nationals and still didn't fill the team.
I hate it when bureaucrats get involved. Always ends up with stupid rules made by people without there finger on the pulse = surfing SA
Feb titles = onshore and no waves
No interstaters competing because we have hundreds in line to compete.
Every year we will have less and less compete with a $50 entry
What an absolute joke......wake up surfing SA
Yes, I still intend competing, although a boycott to support my interstate friend did cross my mind[}:)]
My longest board is 8'6" Dave, you welcome to try any of my boards, there is also a PSH 8'6" wide demo, you are welcome to ride it in the comp or give it a demo.
Fingers crossed we get some waves and the onshore hold off.
Be a good SUP crew club gathering/bbq and demos aswell.
Its a pity the other state memberships can't cover the insurance. Kiters have to pay $165 for cover.... then you want to enter the SUP event and its costs $50 to enter plus another membership fee....
I dont see every surfer made to have insurance like every kiter should....
One way not to get more numbers...
