Hey Guys,

When are we going to start running events on a Sunday instead of Saturdays when a number of us can't make it? Or is this the very reason [}:)]

The boys got some great footage of you Hilly, hope it makes the video. Should be some great vision coming out in the next day or so.
Yeah great effort for Radman to make the event all the way from Gero.
Might have to get the SUPWA crew up that neck of the woods for a surf & downwinder trip.

Great day and some great efforts across the board, by organisers and competitors alike.

Marcus and Ben led the way as is starting to become the norm.

however being a fellow member of the Old Paddlers Club, I'd like to make special mention of the great result by Kevin (O50) to come in 3rd overall not far behind the leader and way in front of a lot of good paddlers.

At the other end of the age scale, I also notice young Jackson is getting faster with each outing.

I think for most people no matter where you were in the field there was some close racing, I was in a bunch with Lach, Gordon Mc and Basha for most of the way.

The last K or so it was me and Basha.....neck and neck.......tied for 16th after nearly 2 hours 20 min of racing, it doesn't get any closer than that.

P.S. hope the leg is not to bad Thomas, best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Great day and thanks to supwa and all the sponsors, good to see so many close battles down the time sheet.
Was amazing to race my homeless brother neck and neck for 20 km and to be 24 sec apart at the Finnish we had nothing left!
I have to agree on Kevin's amazing effort, someone has found the fountain of youth
Great job everyone for finishing such a gruelling race!!!

Wind did the right thing I think 18 to 20 easy maybe stronger ,good runners first half then second section became harder to link up may be because I was so stuffed and had to deal with some back wash from shore getting out there some great efforts from crew doing there first 20 k race and great to have some well trained medical people to help Thomas out that shore break sorted out a few crew .

Have to agree with Bt and Tightlines. Paddler of the day for me was Kevin in 3rd over the line at over 50! Bloody amazing effort. Amazing day, another great effort by supwa and volunteers and sponsors. Thanks so much to people like Luke and Greg (I'm sure theres more sorry) who miss out on a great run just to organize and look after us onthe day. I'm sure you'd rather be paddling. Much appreciatted. Oh yeah, if anyone knows how to slow down my little bro please pm me. Think I'll be looking at his back more very soon. Great battle little brother. Good conditions, good humans, good times! Cheers everyone involved:)

Great race yesterday and well done to all paddlers. Agree with Stimo was a great paddle for the first 3/4 of the race with some great runners however the final stage gets harder trying to link up the runners as the ocean gets really confused about 5k out from the finish and fatigue starts to kick in.

Had a great tussle with Tightlines, good on ya mate it was great to cross the line together, i thought you had me as we entered the shore break. I think it humbled a lot of paddlers yesterday.

Would be great to see some more ladies in next years race, wouldn't have changed the result as we all know Michelle is the best female paddler in WA, but it would be great to see the division grow.

Wishing Thomas a speedy recovery.

It's good to have those personal battles throughout the race, but what's even better is to be able to smile and laugh about it after.

I gave up trying to catch Kev around the 12km mark and was just worried about keeping Hilly on his 17 and Ben on his 16 behind me.

It's a shame that was/will be Kev's only race of the summer as he was looking really good and I am sure after last years dissapointment of the Dr he would be out for revenge.

Speedy recovery Thomas.

12 - 14 km /hr+ average speeds are capable on this run in 20- 25 kns with not quite as Mitch pain as the cut run that's Molokai times

Second all the praises everyone else has given, awesome day, great conditions, good people, big thanks to all the support people and organisers, world class stuff. From sleepy perth.

On the shark note, I was pretty sure I saw a not dolphin fin before the start of the race, looked something like the pics in the west Australian last weekend. Didn't quite believe my eyes so went with it been a dolphin, Donna reckons she saw it from the beach.

I will say every time I went in the water it was like a trampoline, didn't get very wet for the time I spent off my board.

I'm liking the sound of the big SIC boards, you would of been flying for the first 10kms. Defiantly worth a look. Maybe we can get a bulk discount.

Hope your ok Thomas and get back on your feet soon, was a pretty interesting exit.

P.s. I found a pfd so if anyone is missing it, PM me.

It was a crazy exit to say the least. Plenty of lessons learned on this one. Thanks again for all the help - much appreciated. Fibula is unfortunately out of action for 6-8 weeks which is a serious bummer. I did see something else that was "interesting" about 30 min into the race which kept me well on he board for about 10 clicks...
