I'm pretty pumped for this.
Had a Pete Dorries DW clinic on the Swan river last week which was amazing, followed by an 8k Fig to Fig Ocean DW on Sunday.
Now the Cut to hone my new DW skills tomorrow.
Love the support from all in SUP, amazing
Hi SUPWA people, can some one please post a map with one of those red pins to indicate exactly where we go for rego and the finish? Seems there are a couple of car parks for singleton beach, I'm assuming it's the one at the end of Singleton Beach road and straight through the roundabout.
Cheers.
Super pumped for the race btw...
Hi Dai Sup
you are correct its the carpark at the end of Singleton beach road, if you have entered online you will be emailed a notice of race with one of those pin thingy indicator pictures, i would do it but computers are not my strong point. Look forward to seeing you tomorrow, and a reminder we have a bus service for all competitors. Conditions are lookin epic..
Hey Guys,
Hope you all have a great day and that it's one to remember.......for all the right reasons....especially Thomas!
Sorry I can't be there.
Lets hope the start can get pushed back a bit and let the wind really push in Did the 10 k section with a few of the east coast crew and the tardrew boys quote from east coast crew one of the best DW tracks he has ever done it was cranking surfing bumps the whole way .![]()

see you all tomorrow
Registration will open from 1115-1145 tomorrow with the briefing at 12pm. See the above map for details to Singleton Beach.
I hope I feel as good in the morning as I do now, nothing like attending a fellow breezers wedding the night before a 20k downwind race. ![]()
Hi guys,
Finally sorted out the registration, paid my entry and drank Olive Leaf Extract like it's going out of style. Sad to say, the back has not gotten any better and although I can mask the pain, the cold I caught on Thursday has zapped me. A whole night shivering and sweating and then not enough energy to finish breakfast this morning puts me out! Gutted! ![]()
May still make it if a miracle happens in the next hours, but if not, have a great race everyone, just cant believe it ![]()
DM
Beau O'Brian 14 x 25 ace
Ben Tardrew 14 x 24.75 falcon
Marcus Tardrew 14 x 25 NSP DC
Will Lee 14 x 25 ace
Cameron Mvckay 14 x 27 ace
Ben Mardion 16 bullet
Kevin Kemp Smith 14 x 27.25 falcon
Mike Galvin 17 DC
Dale Chapman 14 x 25 NSP DC
Beau did the fastest time EVER on the course of something crazy like 1:31, for 21km that's pretty quick. I know he was pushed right to the line by Ben and Marcus.
Terrene finished 12th overall I think, out of a field of 40 odd very impressive.
Cracking conditions and thanks to SUPWA for another excellently run event.

Full results. Great day, feeling a little weary now. Fantastic effort by the SUPWA crew and lovely volunteers.
Think Galvo was on 17 unlimited
just for the over 40 bragging rights in the 14 div you know what I mean
That's one quick time for 21 ks for the winner
Fantastic run, heaps of swell and runners got some great link ups and took the drop on a few bombs.
Huge thank you to the girls for coordinating the event allowing the guys to paddle.
How good was it to finish and then have a couple of girls carry your board up to the grass.
Hopefully Stimo comes up with some footage, just don't let Marcus do the soundtrack.
Sounds like you guys had a lot of fun.
Must of been quite a battle between the brothers. Did Marcus beat Ben last year![]()

Hi Kissa, Marcus won last year in 1:48hr. Really reliable conditions in December for our Seabreeze so it was an awesome run. Hope to see you next year.
Is There going to be one of those awesome video productions of Matt's coming from yesterday?
Yep, Matt the legend was there, stay tuned for some of his best work..........great on the water footage.

Haha, sorry jenkz, I know your a Beiber fan and I promise he'll feature heavily on my next vid;)
Yesterday was so good. At one stage 3 of us on one runner. First ten k paddling along side my little bro just hooting him the whole way. Didn't even feel like a race, was the best vibe I've had in a race ever and possibly the most fun.
Stoked for the little bro to be state champ. Paddled like a guru and made me very stoked to see his grin after the race.
Massive thanks to Beau, Terrene, Jamie and of coarse dale for being great humans and also for comin over for the race. Also gero crew for driving down.
Thanks to all the sponsors and most of all supwa. Best sup day ever:)
Hope ya knee gets better Soon Ben:(
The top 3, Beau, Ben and Marcus...top effort fellas!! A privilege just to share the water with you. What a great race!!
Cheers Marcus, congrats again to you and Ben mate! Congrats to Beau And Terrene too! Epic conditions for an epic race, even though I only did half! Was absolutely spewin about the knee, was having so much fun up until then, best DW conditions ive seen! Hopefully its not too bad and i can come back and finish the run before the wind goes away. Cheers to Mandurah Sea Rescue for coming to pick me up and Ian for hanging with me! The guys do an amazing job, especially considering it is a volunteer service, I will definitely be sending an xmas donation their way!
Thanks again to SUPWA and all the volunteers on the day, events just keep getting better and better and this is directly attributed to the hard work that goes into organising these events!
I blame this on Wezzy.
Ever since the Bridge to Bank race, poor Ben has had this urge to jump aboard rescue boats whenever he can.
Top effort to the Mandurah Sea Rescue for helping out in trying conditions for boating.
Hope your on the mend quickly Ben.
Sorry Dale actually beat Galvo by almost 2 mins.
Heard a rumour Galvo mention the word got to start training now its blowing out there now get going yewwwww
Sorry Dale actually beat Galvo by almost 2 mins.
I don't think he was as happy with his company on the rescue boat this time though!![]()

I don't think he was as happy with his crew on the rescue boat this time....so I think he might be cured! ![]()
Seriously though, an amazing job from all the SUPWA Crew and especially the volunteers who make this event what it is!
You have created something very special on the WA DW calender, and hopefully in the future even more so the national DW calender. ![]()
Time for thankyous:
Di McPhail and Michelle Jenkins did a tremendous job in running the day. Well done to Di for co-ordinating the event - a big ask and you achieved it in style. Effortless assistance from Sal Simpson.
The SUPWA KotC sub comm - Lach, Chris, Michelle, Di and Rog. Great preparation and hard work to get things done and grow the event.
The fantastic volunteers on the day - jade, Anne, Felicity, Adrian and the Simpson Boys. In fact the whole Simpson family and Jenkins family are awesome.
Special thanks to support craft - Richard, Craige and Mandurah Sea Rescue. Also to Steve at Sundowner signs for banners and Ian, Derek and Luke for arranging board transport.
Thanks again to our sponsors - Bus West, Gordon Stimson, Stand Up Surf Shop, NSP-DC and Redink homes. Thanks for believing in SUPWA and this event.
This is a great little (big now) event, held on a very special piece of coastline that was once WA's best kept secret. Thanks to all competitors for making it and we hope to see more of you next year! .......tell your friends! ![]()
