Paddled the course this arvo OMG, runs that went on and on and on and on and on and then you linked up to the shoulder high swell. Take the drop onto skate park smooth troughs due to the wave in front cleaning everything up.
The Tardrew boys were smokin, went past me like I was standing still.
Roll on Sunday.

That was a perfect run!
That sounds like a good way to lose money/beer stimo!!! He never lets me beat him race day! We will all be chasing Beau anyway, might have to get dale to take him out the night before haha
Your back will be fine Darren, not much paddling required :)
See u all Sunday!

That run yesterday was EPIC !! Spoilt for choice when it came to runs ! Big slides everywhere. Look out all you O/40's, Jenkz was flying - with style ! Jacko was moving out, and Cam just split ( hope you made it to your lesson in time ). The Tardrew boys are something else, looking soo comfortable at lightning speed. Stimo and I were sweeping, and doing regular water temp checks, all in the name of research - of course ! See you all on Sunday.

Prize pool has pushed out to $4500 now with generous support from NSP-DC and Stand Up Surf Shop.
$1000 for the King of the Cut (first person across the line - come on girls!), $750 for 2nd, $500 for 3rd, $300 for 4th and $200 for 5th.
Prize money goes into age groups as well - very deep spread.

Like the others have already said, that run was amaZing! If u can't afford hawaii people, get over here for Downwinding. This run is as good as maliko when it's good.
This will be the second king of the cut and both of them will have been held in 20+ knots. It's hard to get that anywhere else in oz.

Here you go, details are on the entry portal:
Pre race registration:
PLEASE NOTE Registration will take place at the FINISH ( Singleton Beach Car Park) between 1130 hrs and 1145hrs with a race briefing 1200, to enable vehicle drop off.

Start : The starting point will be between a start vessel and the end of the Northern groyne at the ocean end of the Dawesville Cut. The first wave of competitors will start at 1330 hrs.
There will be mass start for competitors.
1325hrs 5 minute warning
1330hrs Start All divisions
The Course: From the start, all competitors will head directly to the finish at Singleton Beach. Paddlers that have not made Roberts Point ( Comet Bay) within 1 hr and 45 minutes from their start time will be directed to shore and will not be allowed to continue the remainder of the race.
The Finish: The finish line will be between two large ???Redink Homes??? flags which will be positioned above the high water line, on the beach at Singleton. Please note that the competitor is deemed to have finished once the competitor, his board and paddle, have crossed the finish line.

Safety:
1) All competitors must complete the appropriate race registration form
2) a. Board leash ( leg rope)
b. PFD type 1, 2 or 3 (Personal floatation device)
c. Smoke flare are compulsory for all competitors.
Compliance and usage will be scrutineered prior to, during and after the race. Mobile phone in a waterproof carry case is recommended.
3) Hydration vests/ packs are strongly advised. Depending on conditions the race duration could be in excess of 3 hours.
4) Please note that this race is for experienced paddlers with a high level of paddling fitness.

Safety Boats:
There are 4 volunteer safety boats on course for the event. One boat will be designated as a lead out boat which will be clearly identifiable with Redink Flags. This boat will travel along the optimal route to Singleton Beach from the start.
The sweeper boat will remain behind the final paddler at all times. A third vessel will join the race from Roberts point (the halfway mark) and support the middle of the field of paddlers to the finish.
The Event Co-ordinator is Di McPhail ??? she will be in direct contact with safety craft
To draw attention to a safety boat, raise one hand or paddle in the air whilst sitting on your board. It is the duty of the closest paddler to render assistance to any paddler that indicates that they require it.
All paddlers will be given a wrist band that has the event director contact number on it. Should a paddler pull out of the race or require assistance ??? please contact this number immediately.
In the event that a shark is spotted, the closest boat will monitor the shark and shadow its position with respect to the paddlers, keeping their vessel between the shark and the paddlers.
