The revised date for RPS/Starboard "King of the Cerb" series Race 2, to be held at Mentone Beach is this Sunday 16th October.

Some of you may have recently seen on the news that our precious Half Moon Bay has been inundated with red [ not contaminated sand].

Due to the unforseen decision by the DSE to commence beachworks there without any prior notice, the beach is off limits to the general public until the works are completed.

This means a move of Race 2 , RPS/Starboard [ "King of the Cerb"] series to Mentone.

Rd 2 will be called "Prince of the Tone". Unfortunately the crew from HMB SLSC have a weekend training camp, so it will be a "sup only" event. Results from the race will go towards the end of series points as normal.

Registration and Race start time will remain unchanged.

Sup Vic will be present at registration to accept any new or membership renewals.

Race 2 will be free entry for Sup Vic members.

Registration from 7am

Briefing at 7.50am

Race at 8am sharp!

Parking is available in the carpark opposite Joe's Restaurant. You can also drop your board off and park free in the side street opposite.

Also, watch out for cyclists, as the annual "Round the Bay in a Day" will be on.

Course length will vary depending upon weather and wind conditions.

Categories for Sup paddlers will include

- Men's, Open and 12'6"

- Womens, Open and 12'6"

- Men's over 45, Open and 12'6"

- Juniors [ 16 and under]

Sup paddlers must be a current Sup Vic member [ you can join on the day].

Overall results will be calculated on the paddlers' 3 best placings.

Paddlers who enter 3 or more races are eligible for the major prize which will be a spanking, new Starboard 12'6" Race board.

Parking and race start is from

With a forcast for a 15-20 knot westerly increasing to 30 knots coming from the same direction as your little red arrow let's hope the Beaumaris cliffs offer some protection.. A course that goes out to the point and back should give some nice little runners on the way back.. I'll be there..

Let's just say that it may be advisable to wear a wettie.

Course and duration will be determined on the morning. We may have to shift even further up towards the protection of the corner bay.

Whatever happens will no doubt produce some laughs!

I'm being totally selfish here, but I hope they've got it right, because Monday morning promises to be all time Westernport!
Then the dilemma is which board to take?
Fanatic 9'0" or Starboard 8'5"?

It's looking the goods, a little SW in it won't hurt at all.
