Hi everyone, just back from a ten day trip to Coolangatta in southern Queensland home of the "Super Bank".
If it's not the best wave in the world it would be close to the top, take away the insane crowd and it would be a dream wave.
It was two to three foot and offshore for the whole nine days we were there. I took my Smik 8'6x31 Hipster Twin the ideal board for me, it's stable enough to fight the current and wind and has just enough paddle power to give you a chance to compete with the crowd. And when on wave its super fast and when the wave allows it can rip a cutback.
If you get a chance to hit the Superbank it might just give you the best wave of your life. Or you will watch many others get theirs
I was taking a walk with my wife after my morning surf and was trying out a second hand lens I found in a camera store the day before. I don't know who this hero is but he was riding an Infinity Escape Pod.

They really do catch waves early...

I recently brought an Escape Pod off a Seabreeze member and will be adding my review in a few days. This guy looks like he has mastered it already.
Have a great weekend all.
Steve.
Thanks Rick, its only a seven hour drive and even if there is no waves it a great place to be.
The WSL contest was starting the day we left so I was able to see these guys out in the lineup, talk about next level surfing.
Have a great Sunday.
Steve.
