NSW State Titles are $77. The cost must be directly correlated to the unrealness of the state in which they are held! ![]()
Yep, $56 to become a (required) member of Surfing NSW, then $77 per division at the titles (I'm going in the Over 35 and the Open) - I'm up for $210 in entry fees!
How can NSW have different age divisions when QLD doesn't ![]()
![]()
don't the winners then qualify for the Aussie Titles
(which will be won by QLD BTW
)
Why not have age divisions? Means us old farts have a marginally better chance of getting through a couple of rounds.
It is also because of the extra unrealness of NSW!!
Yes there is heaps of longboard divisions to give every punter a go, if anything the old guys {supping} were the ones that took to the sport fiirst. - More money for surf australia and memberships if they have another age group, especially in the mens. Supposedly they represent us ,yet to see them put themselves out unless they get fully buffed . That is one money grabbing entity of the boys club of surfing. Once again the blinkers are on , they dont even know the age group doing the sport ?
Didnt read surfing nsw entry form ,good effort supporting over 35 and a paddle race, sounds like you are well represented down in nsw with the sport. enjoy the event
Just put in an email to Surfing Queensland asking for a over 40's , why don't we band together and use the power of Seabreeze.
The Noosa Surf Fest is a good example with the over 45's filling very quickly with a very long waiting lists. So the numbers are there no agruement.
These are the contacts for every state , contact your own state and RAISE HELL fellow Breezers..[}:)]

stupid question for a simple mind. Are you better of joining supsa or surfing Queensland. If they run different comps why have both organisations ? Should they not help each other? From what i have read they supposedly seem to help, so why do you have to join different orgs? Supsa seems to be well represented yet you cant be a member of them and compete at this event? or can you? Why dont they have a grom section? As i said i am simple![]()
Sounds like the start of something big.
Piros has the right idea, the more that lobby the better.
I'm betting theres a lot of sup surfers out there that are middle age.
They deserve their own age group
GOOD NEWS ALREADY
just recieved a phone from Chad at Surfing Qld , I sent this link and he agrees there is definelty a strong demand for over 35's or 40's so it will be included for this years Queensland titles BUT NOT the Aussie titles however it will be recommened for 2012 so looking good.
Get those fingers pumping and get the message to Surfing Australia in your state.
