This Sunday the 4th of Dec. we'll gather again for another Downwinder from Port to Swannie. Meeting point will be @1530 ( for a 1600 start) at the South carpark at Port Beach, and finish will be in front of the Swannie SLC. We will keep an eye on the forecast, and post any updates to the course. You can give Galvo a call on 0416 187816 for more info.
The DW we did on the 20/11 was an absolute belter, so come on along and join in the fun!!
Leashes are a must.
Look out will galvo be on that boat with the fly bridge and girls on transom deck ?
That Nash 17 needs handicapping And as to rodg and that clog board handicap him too ,![]()
Get two "clog" boards Stimo, Rog (massive Shoulders) can then paddle with a foot in each one
. Galvo will need a second mate if his board gets any bigger lol
May have to run on one of the Clogs my fanatics going out the door must be to cheap ,!
And yes he has got big shoulders that's why. All the girls love him .
Hey lads you might want to move the start a bit further north, there are water closures up to Leighton beach due to the World Sailing champs from 08:30 to sunset starting Saturday.
Hey, nice work DirectX, well spotted !! Weather is starting to look a bit iffy for Sun DW, but let's keep an eye on it. Can always have a practise run for Froggy's 40th. He's good entertainment when the going gets tough. Must be those massive shoulders !
Wind for Sunday arvo is not looking good for a downwinder, so the plan is to meet at the Dutch Inn car park ( South Cott ). We'll run some informal out and back races, probably some board swapping, and there should even be some spare boards to have a race on. Great chance to check out some of the latest race boards in the flesh too. Be there at 1530 for a 1600 start. Should be a great way to finish the weekend ! ( The Frogsocker is providing de-brief reshreshments
)
Going to carve a board out of the paperbark tree out the front and get down there any body got some cray floats for bouys or you boatie boys must have something that floats that we can use as a marker not to sure about paddling round that shark bouy at cott that's gone off 400 times in the last 2 months THEY don't let that out to much!!!!
Thanks chicken sticks for organizing thanks Standup paddle for the extra boards and thanks rodger for the beers great way to spend the late arvo on the west coast
Thanks a lot for this afternoon guys, for the use of the boards and the beers, very enjoyable. Cheers Ian.
Who would of thought that at 4 pm on a summers' day in Perth you would have a glass off ?? Although the refreshments were nearby, all starters showed great restraint and hit the water for an 'out and back' race, followed by a series of short bursts along the coast to Cott and back. The water was crystal clear, and board swapping was mandatory. Anyone who was lucky enough to have a crack on Stimo's DC17 was in agreeance that it is just too much of an unfair advantage, and should be cut in half at the next opportunity!! The arvo finished off with a couple of coldies watching the sun set over a glassy Indian Ocean.
Next one will be Sunday 11th @ 1600. Keep an eye out for details closer to the day, once we get an idea of conditions.
Thanks for a great arvo yesterday guys!!
Awesome to jump on heap of different boards and how lucky were we to get such a lovely glass off for this time of the year.
Quite a long way off till next Sunday but could be looking the goods for a great down wind run.
