I know we're still a fair way out, but this Sunday 11th Dec. is looking the goods for a great downwinder. Reasonable Southerly, and a bit of swell to boot. We'll meet at the Southern carpark at Port Beach at 1530 with a 1600 start. Finish will be at the Swannie SLSC carpark. Anyone in need of a board should call Galvo at Standup Surfshop. Will confirm details as the date approaches.

Well the strong wind warning didn't translate to strong winds, but the wind direction was perfect ( due South) the strength was 10 - 15 knots. It was the best showing so far ( 12 at last count ) with some noticeable absentees ( Froggy was couch bound after a 'best on ground' performance at his own 40th !!), Jenks was on Father duty, but still showed up to help with transport, Basha69 was offering moral support, and even a few Lockwoods were seen lurking around at the start, so I wouldn't be surprised if the numbers swell over the coming weeks. Starters included Brett on his new Fanatic 14, Richard on Brett's Starboard 14, Wes on Galvo's Starboard 14, Stimo on the DC17 (chainsaw is coming next Sunday Stimo!!!)Dr Pete - Fanatic 12'6", Fi - 71 12'6", Ian- Fanatic 12'6", Bearded man - Fanatic 12'6", Steve - Starboard 14', Chickenstix - Amundson 12'6" TR-x.
Great way to finish the weekend, thanks to Brett for being the tailend sweeper, and to Stimo for the refreshments. Looking forward to next Sunday already.
See you all there !!!

Hi Guys,

I'll be there next week .... I hope. I managed a solo downwinder from Brighton to Sorrento. I would have come down but had to fit in between kids birthday and wifes kitesurfing.

On the water at 2.00pm and finished at 3pm. Great direction, lots of fun little runners. Hopefully see you all next Sunday.

Cheers,

DM

Hi guys, I joined in down wind (think I am bearded man fanatic 12'6). Just wanted to say thanks to the couple of guys I met for being very welcoming. I paddled further on with Pete and we had a bit of a board swap and I had a ball. Cheers guys.

Good to see you on the water Marcus Good paddle to scabs from there well done
We will be building up now for longer runs for the doctor looking at may be sand tracks /port beach to city beach with BBQ and beer next week weather permitting
We are looking at handicap starts for some of the new guys so we all get in about same time so the front runners don't get all the beer don't think we will be handicapping you to much you had a good speed going on if you were keeping up with the Doc he's no slouch on that fanatic ,
Up and coming runs only putting it out there port/scarbs Port/ trigg point port/hillary's
Then the big one rotto to sorrento test run may need boat support (luc you still got that boat that can take a swag of keen racers ) like I said just putting it out there .
See you all on the water 2.8 m Tuesday like to see that doing a dawn buster surf
