Where Icarus falls
(The SUP surfer's song)

Where Icarus falls, I rest, muse and play,
Rising with first light to study the break,
Behold with gold wonder the clean new day.
Bright orb from the depths lights up clouds and wakes.

Yellow turns to blue, swell lines are calling.
My board under foot and paddle in hand,
I slip over crests, no fear of falling,
To get out the back; waiting, watching, stand.

Wind puffs arrive, peacock feathers on glass.
A set's coming through, just pick the right wave.
A surge in the chest, dig deep, paddle fast.
Emerald green embrace, rushing down its face.
Under the lip I am over the moon.
I am king of the curl, son of Neptune.

Love it, well done Adi. "Emerald green embrace" great image and feeling. Should put some chords/music to it. Thx for the share

Love it, catches special moments really well, my fav:

'A surge in the chest, dig deep, paddle fast.
Emerald green embrace, rushing down its face.'

Found SUP surfing has made the lead up to a wave and dropping such a cooler experience then I have had riding other boards, longboards were the closest but not the same, you really get time to line it up and see it clearly.

Hope this thread becomes a song/poem thread, could do with more of that!
