Such a fun day!
After an hour messing with a broken SoloShot screen, I bailed and put on the Kook Hat Cam....
So glad I did! Yewwwwww

Lotta fun. Those were some great conditions. As just a typical surfer who always dreams of new boards, I found this vid interesting with its show of two very different shapes. My impression surprised me while watching, that the placid went a bit better on that wave compared to the rippier looking sp25.
But the specs showed it had a significant volume difference that I guess gave the placid more juice.

Hi J
I would have a hard time figuring which I like better for sure!
They both are super fun to surf.
To be fair, I think it may be that the Placid just had better opportunity for maneuvers, like a little foam ball to bank off.
The Placid is easier to surf, the SP25 is slightly more technical.
The extra volume of the SP25 doesn't necessarily make it more stable, but there's a lot more float.
The SP25 is noticeably faster but the Placid is fast enough.
I hope to get more footage of them both on the same session again, but from my new SoloShot. (that day SoloShot died, so I got a new one)
Yesterday I rode an 8'7 Placid at 125 liters for an hour and a half...
It was super easy for me.... considering I am 104 kg, that surprised the heck out of me! ![]()
