I was inspired by CMC's "Perfect Day" Vid to think what was my most memorable day surfing (SUP).

I have only been standing in the surf for a little over 1 year so wasn't hard to recall.

My standout day was last september on a Northern NSW beachbreak. I was on holidays so no time pressure. It was raining and a light offshore breeze making glass like conditions. There was a pack of mostly longboarders on a bank but a 500m paddle up the beach was another bank with slightly smaller shoulder high waves, not that hollow but enough to generate some good speed. I shared it with a local shortboarder getting long rights almost in to shore. I didn't talk much with the shortie as we were in rotation with very little waiting between sets. We did acknowledge each others better waves with a bit of a grin.

I don't know how many hours I stayed out but I could hardly walk up the beach when I finished. I'm still feeling stoked thinking about it.

Anyone care to post their "Perfect Day"

My perfect day is any day when the crowd is manageable - like today, nice small waves in the cove just a bit too windy at times but the ones i got were beatiful!!

I have been in this since July 10 and have to say it is the most fun i have had in years....i have sailed heaps, scuba etc...but this!

i had a perfect day just before xmas at Noosa...nice wave, dolphins right next to me and friendly crew!

the downside of of the sup is it can be harmful to your other interests...my boat is for sale, i work from home now so work people don't know if i piss off to go surfing and i spend more time planning the next day surfing than the next days work but who cares right

I have one day that will stay in the memory for ever. Every time my mate and I drink beer this day comes up. It was the perfect surfing day. This is shortboarding not SUP though. I have surfed in Indo, Phillipines, Europe, Fiji and the best waves of my life were at home.

Myself and one of my best mates scored possibly the best day of beach breaks I have seen ever.

We had 2 sessions that took up the whole day. 7am to 5pm. (winter)

Session 1: 4-5 feet and pulsing, sheet glass, 5 people out on one of the local rocks that had the best banks I have ever seen. My bedroom window looked straight at this rock. Wave after wave after wave. My mate snapped his board in a barrel after about 3 hours standing with his hands above his head and it shut down on him. He went to the beach and watched and said after he counted me getting barreled over 20 times he could not watch any longer and left. I am no pro surfer but these waves were perfect, take off, bottom turn tuck up, pull in and just keep your nose pointed in the right direction and you were coming out every wave. I finally came in and needed some food.

Headed to Cooly for the Healthy Bee for lunch, picked up his spare board.

Session 2: A touch bigger but higher tide, less barrels but with total glue foot could not do a thing wrong. On the spot for every wave and did not make a mistake. Possibly the best surfing I have ever done. Ended on the sand after dark screaming at the sky "THANKYOU GOD!"

There was only one thing left to do. Casino. Beer. It was my single days and with a glow like that and a sunburnt face and a smile about 6 feet wide how could you not get lucky as well????

Getting goosies reading these posts. My 2 cents worth:

12 years ago at Snatches on the East Coast. There had been some bad weather for a week or so but it cleared the night before this day. The wind had swung early and was coming from the north in the morning. Now this is before the bom and swellnet so you took your chance! I headed to Snatches on the off chance that it would have a bank. Walked the track, got to the end and was presented with empty 6ft barrels. Empty. As in no-one out!
I legged it back to the car, got my board and paddled straight out and proceeded to get wave after wave of sandbar heaven. About an hour and a half later a local guy (Gomez) popped over the hill, saw the sickness and paddled out. We had it for 2 or 3 hours to ourselves until someone else got into it.
About 5 hours with one other guy out, then the word spread and everyone was on to it.

Goosies.
