G'day fella's I'm looking moving on from my Wide Ripper 8'9" (its in the buy/sell) and getting a Starboard 8'5" Pro. What can i expect?

I consider myself competent annd have surfed for 30plus yrs and been supping for 5. I also have a Hokua 9'6" for the less than perfect days. I mainly surf in the SW of WA so I'm used to solid powerful waves. I am finding the PSH great but the wider style can get/feel bulky in hollow waves.

Anyone had experince on both these boards?
My shop will give me a great deal on a new 8'5" but having never ridden one i'm not sure, The outline (nice pin tail) is very similar to the short boards i have been riding for the last 20yrs so i reckon they 8'5" will surf OK.

Your thoughts?

If your not too heavey you will love the new 8.5 pro, with the flatter deck it more stable than last years pro and surfs real good, with the amount of product design and testing that goes into every Starboard you cant go wrong.

The 8'5 pro will handle up to 90 kgs very comfortably.
