It looks amazing and so NOT crowded. Did you take your own boards or does the resort have hire boards
Took our own boards, 9 foot limit on air Niugini
not crowded (most we had was 6/7 in a line up)
2-3 foot most days when we were there, a few bigger swell days at long longs and picanninies during our stay
That was so much more than just a surf trip! And featuring both a Smik and a Sunova, so everyone here will be happy.
Did a couple of trips there in 2013 & 2014. Uncrowded & unspoilt.
We were fortunate to be there when the adjoining village had a sing-sing. That was pretty special to see the villagers in traditional dress singing, dancing & feasting.

Very fond memories of Nusa ;several trips there,just spent some time catching up with the owners on a recent visit back to oz,Covid was a real challenge for them ,but things are on the improve !Im testing my memory here but I think there are 11 surf breaks within the kavieng harbour area in close proximity to Nusa island,both lefts and rights of varing intensity, from fun, to reef tattoos,nothing like the raw lime juice scrub on any reef cut ,! However the real gems are about a 5 hr steam north up near New Hanover one particular island surrounded by amazing waves,you can check them out by checking PNG surfaris web page ,as this was a family business on my wife's side and my stepson for approximately 15 years. The legendary Captain Andrew Rigby or undies as he is affectionately known,was solely responsible for the exploration of that area and beyond! Two of my favourite stories are being invited onto the above mentioned island on an exploratory surf mission,by the chief for a sing sing and celebrating the fact that for the first time in the island's history that 3 generations of of the one family of white people ,my wife Andrew her son and his children,with the chief blessing all ,pretty big stuff ! The second story involves Andrew (undies) back from a trip and being at the Nusa bar ,and getting smashed with a guy he vaguely recognised ,Texan actor Mathew Mconahey there on a break from filming Fools Gold,both ended up legless still don't know who won that one??,also picture this Andrew's family lived on the next small island across from Nusa and the 3 kids went to the international school in Kavieng by tinnie every day from their island paradise.,that also had a left on one end that's in the video and a right at the other end of very small island.many other stories that come to mind ,thank you Divaldo for the memory hit F@#$king gold times ????

Those tales sound amazing mate, the sort of stories I could sit in bar and listen to all day. It looks and sounds like a better option to spend time there than Fiji except it would be a bit more hassle getting there.

Super easy to get there, we got there in a day from Adelaide
For us on the East Coast,Brisbane-Morsbey- Rubual- kavieng with Morsbey being the biggest hassle,as in The PNG factor begins hopefully that has improved

WOW. I don't often watch random peoples vacation videos, but that may be the best one I've ever seen. Epic. Although it might be enhanced by me being in New York City in the doldrums of the winter praying for the wind to shift tomorrow so I can go into 40 Fahrenheit 6 Celsius water for the first time in a month!!!

It did get bigger, but we were to busy surfing to film
Are the local boys still calling the wave gods in their national language?that was a real treat for me
Oh man, thanks for this vid. So many awesome memories. 1998 for me. Was my first ever os surf trip. Surf and wind was unfortunately average except for the last morning when we woke to a fresh 3-4 foot swell. My sooky mates were over it due to average waves for 2 weeks so when Nick knocked on the bungalow at dawn and said it's on I said I'm keen if you are and he replied I'm Nick Keane let's go. Just the 2 of us for 4 hours before I had to fly out. All my gear thrown in the board bag soaking wet. Good to see it hasn't changed much. Fishing with the locals, trips to town which looks the same. Cricket on the island, with the boys. Trips to outer islands, dugongs and awesome people. I'm now standing up instead of lying down and I'm now inspired to go back with my kids. Did you happen to meet a guy named timmy on the island? He was just a boy when I was there but I often wonder how he is. Was a cool kid. He and his mates used to share an old beat up board with a foot missing off the nose. One day at piccininni's they were all running over the reef barefoot trying to get the board off each other. Even with unfortunate surf conditions it was just so memorable.
