I loved this clip. Kind of my idea of the perfect day.

Surfing fun waves, paddling canoes and lots of different boards and having fun. Surfers are Kelly, Eddie Vedder, Brian Kealana (spelling?).

Enjoy.

Great little clip Chris.

Watching that makes you want to have more fun out there in the surf.

All the stress , hassling and stink eye gives you the ****s at times. Bring back the fun factor into surfing I say, share a few , enjoy a laugh and give a few away

Could not agree more. I especially liked how Kelly went out of his way at the end to go and meet the fella on the SUP. Love it. I hope Doggie took notice as well. Ha ha ha ha ha

What a great clip, cheers for posting.

I remember one day going out to my local beach break for a flat water paddle and discovering these little 1 1/2 footers rolling in with perfect consistency. After surfing them for a bit I was joined by a long boarder, short boarder, Clubby, body boarder and a guy in fins body surfing. - it was wierd how everyone was surfing something different but awesome just the same. I remember making a comment to the others about feeling like we were in a joke or something. (Irishman Italian Australian and Englishman etc.)

Don't mean to hi-jack but here's a nice little vid from back in the day when dropping in was no big deal.. Specially when there's room in the barrel for two..

The only thing wrong with posting this in this thread is that MR should have a thread of his own.

MR is a legend and deserves a full DJ thread.

I read a really interesting article in The Surfers Journal about him where he says that his board designs were that far ahead of others at that time that his 4 title wins were like taking candy from a baby. They weren't just twin fins they had a tail, rail and rocker design that allowed him the freedom but also the drive and hold.

What a champion.

Great find dj - mr rocks. Loves how his knees are almost touching on his turns and his mad arm movements. At the 15 second mark it looked like he was doing a world first like ks in black and white all those yrs ago and sliding the tail out. He was well in front of his yrs. Saw him out at merewether a few years back on a big southerly swell dominating. It was like watch a real life surf movie. He was killing it. All the style in the world. Great to watch.
