Can someone please explain to me the different divisions in Ocean and Flat Water Racing. I see results for Unlimited, Stock, Open etc and have no idea who or what they represent.
This is more out of general interest but also one day I might want to enter a race for a bit of fun.
I would be a 45yo amatuer so what division/category would a guy like me start out out in?

Apologies if this thread has been done before but I did a search and couldnt find anything.

cheers
Daz

the main categories are 12'6 , 14ft and unlimited usually 16 to 18ft boards.14ft and unlimited mainly for open ocean racing , although can be both ,different board designs for ocean compared to flat water.I would look at 12'6 or 14ft if i where you. Stock class is 12'6 , a good size i think for an allround board , for the average punter.

If you want details talk to Lacey , hes tried them all and them some.
