Doing the race, but not sure about the surfing. Just wish they would run it on the weekend not during the week!
Still working on that board Phill, hopefully my new Fanatic will arrive in time so I'll have a spare board to lend her.

SurfAnimals,
It is in regard to getting boards on planes, and 14 feet!
But the 14 Vortice is going strong still.
Sorry OG SUP, I spoke on your behalf!

SA what Simondo said

Kristi loves the Vortice on a Corio DW

Ali all good if it happens it happens.

I have to say Breezers are a great bunch , we have had 3 offers since the post went up, How cool is that.

IMO thats what sup is about I reckon, the spirit, the vibe, the friendship!

Any idea what course the 5km SUP loop race will follow? Will it be BOP format with 5 laps of a course, or just out and back somewhere?
Thanks

John...this from the official website.

Tully said he had been inspired by recent stand up paddle races, such as the Battle of the Paddle in Hawaii and California, to work with surf club officials in creating a loop course close to the beach, so that spectators could watch the entire race “up close and personal”. Competitors will paddle five times around a one-kilometre triangular course, punctuating each circuit with a beach sprint.

I will be heading up to have a stall in the market day, but don't want to pay excess flying up my SUP.

Here's hoping everyone who comes from out of town will try to respect the people who live here, and realize that not everyone likes Sup's or contest etc. We will still be here when you leave and will have to put up with any bad will left over.

no one is coming up to wreck your town........ just think how much money this event will generate for the local economy. i am sure everyone on here knows about respect. did not think the ocean belonged to anyone.
you sound like a tosser.

Strange post......? I've always got a good vibe from the Noosa Surfest , that has to be the most negative thing I've read. Do you say the same thing to masses of tourist that choke the place during Christmas , Easter & School holidays.

Hopefully we will get some swell , the over 45 Sup Surf is full 18 people , 3 heats of 6 whats with that , there is a waiting list and they may add another heat so if you are keen send an email info@noosafestivalofsurfing.com.

Entry is in for the race , its me against my fit 16 year old nephew. Might give him my red rockett to race on , if hes nice to his uncleHope to watch a bit of the sup surf action too. One question do the ametuer and pro race go at the same time , it will be good if me and the grommit can both race on my new stick.

Hi guys / gals.
I'm there for sure. Heard there's a chance of swell too. Last yr was epic. I only hope I don't get ran over in my heat then to have my legrope snap n have to swim the entire point with paddle in hand. But I won't mention who actually ran me over.....yes I will....Noel Graham haha I'm on to your heat stratagies this yr haha.

The womens SUP division will be worth watching, some serious talent in that field:

Maria Kingi, NZ
Mary Morrison, QLD
Kristiana Page, VIC
Sondra Purser, NSW
Erin Dark, NSW
Samantha Williams, NSW
Cinde Fisher, WA
Melissa McManus, NSW
Emma Webb, VIC
Jenny Ryan, QLD
Elyse Comerford, NSW
Shakira Westdorp, NSW

Jenny, Shakira, Emma and I hear Maria from NZ shreads and there are quite a few dark horses in the paddock for surprise factor!

Go girls!
