Hi guy first post, awesome forum learnt a heap from this site thanks for sharing the knowledge. Pretty shattered today nose dived whist riding the white wash in this morning out Warilla. Had this crack on the rail and a slight crease along the nose. (Was too filthy to take a pic of that haha)
Anyways it was bound to happen sooner or later so hopefully I've learned my lesson, question is as it happened on the way in and I pulled the board straight out of the water, is the likelyhood much water being sucked into the board? And after repairs are done will the board still be solid or even after the crease is repaired it will always be a weak point and need extra care in the surf?

Thanks in advance (kook of the day)

Welcome twalks

Just dry it out before repairs are done. I am local and surf warilla the farm the entrance mainly too. Ill keep an eye out for you. My mate had his board repaired from bloke in Gerringong i will find out his name if interested. I dont think the board will have a weak spot perhaps in a shorey but normal waves you be right.

All good thanks mate dropped it off to JPD yesterday over at Primbee, should be back in the water in two weeks. Keen to have a crack at the entrance. Spotted someone out the other week looked like a good spot. Any tips for best conditions?
Any sort of social groups that get together for surfs? I've only really found people after flat water down here.

The Nalus are great boards but the nose hates hitting the sand. I did the exact same damage in 6 inch waves. I had it repaired by Breakers in Sydney who do the warranty work for Naish. The color match is great. I have changed to a Naish Quest 9 6 which is better suited to the beach dumpers in Manly. It's heavy and strong. My nalu is reluctantly on sale in Seebreeze!

Yah I love the board it's been awesome to learn on and stable enough to take the kids on in the flats, only thing I've found seems to be a tad on the fragile side, doesn't take much at all to loose some yellow paint haha, although I have no experience with any other boards.

Normally, nearly no water, except if the board was in the process of sucking air: i.e. being used in cool water after being recently heated by the sun on the beach or the car.

Note that you should rinse the ding lightly with fresh water: Salt messes with the curing of epoxy resin.

Don't sweat it too much. After you've dinged it you'll be less precious about keeping it in pristine condition so you'll be able to enjoy it more. At least that's what I found with my Nalu that's going strong 18 months post-repair.

After I finished swearing at myself and gritting my teeth every time I thought about it in the week it took to get repaired, that is...

Put my 76yr old father on my 11'0 Nalu out the lakes entrance, he chucked the paddle away pretty quick but paddled into several nice long lay down, kneel up, no lay down again waves.

We love the Nalu's in this family, and yes have broken one before. Broke it good too, proper bend in half type break. The Naish rep put me on the Tim at Breakers Board repairs in Brookvale. This guy does all Naish's warranty work, is a passionate sup surfer and total perfectionist. Fixed is not the work, it was a complete refurbishment back to as new condition.

I never gave him a plug at the time, and had best intentions to post the work he did, but here's the plug now. If you want it done right, it'd be tough to even find a close second.
