With so many SUP boards to choose from what difference does length make ? Looking to update from previous board which was 10'x32" . Does lighter and narrower make is glide on water over greater distance improve speed and enjoyment of paddling ? Any thoughts on different brands or how does volume effect paddling flat water + small waves ? Your feedback is much appreciated

Without knowing your dimensions or what sort of waves you are looking to ride it would be hard to give a recommendation. Volume and weight will affect paddling and if that were a concern I might look at a Jimmy Lewis striker or a sunova breeze or maybe a Longboard style board which all of the brands make.

Welcome to the forum mate.

These are really broad questions... If you can answer the below - it would be much easier for the experienced crew to help you!

What are your goals? what's your weight? How long have you paddled for? What type of waves interest you? Do you enjoy longboard style surfing or more shortboard style? Or are you looking for more of an all-rounder?

Add to the above : Are you planning to do mostly flat water?
