Hi.
Looking at getting a SUP to primarily cruise around with the missus on flat water but also wish to catch so small/med waves.
Wondering on the differences between the Striker and the SF.
Striker would be nicer as the grip goes to the nose, I have a water loving dog.
Im, 76kg and 5'10.5"
Thanks,
Dave.
100% choose the Striker for your purpose. Probably 9'5" in length.
Single fin for flatwater and 2+1 for small/med waves (single fin + sidebites).
Great all rounder that still surfs sweet.
The Destroyer is the most similar, but has some higher performance abilities for waves.
The idea of the SF is to ride it has small as possible to surf aggressively in small / weak surf. It also won't paddle as straight on flat water or glide anywhere near as well.
Thanks hoppo, i see your in Torquay or Juc.
grew up there many moons ago. ??
what you say also seems the SF behalves the same as a post I read where someone was complaining about it being darty, figured that just means it gives more feedback and is more manoeuvrable.
does sound like the Striker as a better option.
was also thinking around the 9.5'
+1 for the striker, have owned the 8'11" and the 8'5" have to be one of the best all rounders out there and can't fault the construction.

I moved down from Melb about 6 years ago mate. Spent lots of time around Aireys and Lorne growing up in the 90's.
If you said you wanted a surf sup to flat water paddle a bit - i'd say buy a Destroyer. But the fact you said flat water first and surf second, a Striker is the way to go IMO.
I would call the SF lively in the way it surfs - you have to surf it aggressively to get the best out of it much like the Worldwide they used to do. The Striker is much more about glide and smoothness. The destroyer falls in the middle.
Good luck
+1 for the striker. I have the destroyer, a mate has a super frank. The striker would best suit your needs
The new dims 9'8 x 31.5 Destroyer looks interesting as a crossover....
Wish those websites had pics of rockerlines...
Thanks All.
Have booked a demo for this Saturday as local supplier has a Striker. :-)
