This one is a game changer , if you don't want to read the link this is the big pro's on the camera.

True 4k recording x 30fps and 1080p x 120 fps (outrageous) the old 3+ Black was only 15fps at 4k
1 Ghz processor , GoPro has always had the edge with it processing but just takes it way more forward.
Inbuilt stabilisation and noise reduction (that's huge)
Different Lens available (thank you)
Inbuilt playback screen (about time)

No sport cam can come anywhere near this , but before you run out and buy it , you will need a serious computer to edit these massive files. You can knock the settings back for normal filming and really for most punters the std 3 Black is all you need to make Sup Porn like DJ does. To watch a 4k film you will also need one of the new 4k TV's. Here's the link it's in shops in about a month. SurfFx has their order in I'm nothing to do with GoPro just a camera junkie

1080p is 1K. The p means progressive Scan
It is either 4K p or 4K i it can't be 4K at 1080p.
Worked with the Red Epic 5K last week lots of issues with the camera and edit
Its all just numbers I don't know anyone that can spot the difference between 4K and 1080 on a tele you need to see it on a full size movie screen at a distance of a few feet from the screen

I'm a camera nerd, it's my job, but does joe punter need all that for their YouTube videos?
the technology is freakin amazing but all those specs arent really consumer friendly.
Ill buy one though! see, we just get sucked in again.....

Cam , you're just a nerd...........and one that started back at work today after way too much time hanging with the crew doing downwinders in Hawaii. Glad you'll be buying one Cam and then you can do DJ style videos for the NB SUP crew.

Worked on a TV commercial
As a soundo I hate all Red cameras, the epic and the scarlet in my opinion all belong in water housings
Hope they get this camera sorted soon

240fps at 720p - that'll be cool, bring on the super slow-mos.

Alright - some techy camera talk coming up:

I've been shooting a lot of 4k lately - with the super functional and totally reliable Panasonic GH4.

Acquisition in 4k isnt about delivery in 4k - its about the options it gives you in the edit.

1080 p is actually 2k - the 2k refers to the 1920 part (slightly rounded Up)

so 4 k is essentially 4 1080px 1920 boxes in a rectangular grid. Effectively its 4 x the pixels.

I'm happy to deliver in 720p or even SD (dvds still look great on my TV)

- but having my shots in 4k in the edit means i can reframe just about anything - 1 camera gives me 3 discrete framing options for a video if i deliver it in 1080 p. And it gives me some headroom if i want to tickle the image with some stabilisation - its freaking awesome!!

I have heard so much about how unreliable and clunky the reds are - in fact my old panasonic GH2 which i just sold to some aspiring film makers for $650 with 2 lenses and a 16gb card produced footage that can sit next to a red proudly.

The AMAZING thing about the panasonic 4k codec is that i can edit it like butter on my macbook air!! (with a fast usb 3.0 drive attached) - and it grades / color corrects better than it has any right to - its a truly amazing camera.

So those go pro specs totally rock - in camera stabilisation is the bomb!!

cant wait to see it. I'm still amazed by the results and shots i am getting out of my GP3..

At the end of the day though - an interesting story trumps all of the above!

I really, really like GoPro, and I strongly agree with the idea of shooting at highest quality so you get more options when editing.

However, for the vast majority of us punters the GoPro 2 had more than enough quality. The GoPro 3 is even better. Hearing that the GoPro 4 is same same but better is a bit disappointing.

What I would really like is a GoPro with a remote lens option. I want the tiniest lens that I can mount wherever I want it, and have the buttons and control panel where I can see it. That and more battery life would make me a very happy camper.

In the meantime the Innovv C3 is due out soon as a snake cam so I guess a non-GoPro solution will have to do.

Absolutely you can spot the difference:www.hdtvtest.co.uk/news/ without that link it should be patently obvious that this possible.
