Hey Supstars
Just a query - we are trying to plan a sup trip up to South West Rocks way and just wondering if there are some good and friendly sup spots close by and also looking at the Crescent Head caravan park, but wasn't sure if that break is sup friendly, or is there a number of banks you can play on around there?
There will be about half a dozen suppers with a mixture of beginners and intermediate in our group (male & female).
I've travelled many places and supped and haven't upset the locals, but it could be a bit different with half a dozen suppers.
ps i'm not asking for your favourite breaks as i wouldn't say mine on this site, although you can always message me them if you really have to ![]()
Cheers
good luck with that
Yeah i'm an optimist - lots of quiet beaches along that coastline! But maybe i will take the surfboard longboard too, just in case ![]()
im from sunny coast but was in south west rocks today there are kilometres of beach here and not many people you could probably find a whole beach for you and your mates iv never seen this many beaches this empty
South of Cresent Head is " Point Plomer " a national park camp ground - turn up and no need to book - outside of school holidays you are easily able to get a site. Arrive mid week and camp, as there are no bookings, even if a huge crew turn up on the weekend - YOU are already there! No drinking water and no power - it is brilliant for all levels of surfer.![]()
I'll keep checking this thread for updates. I'm planning on going to possibly Crescent Head or Scotts Head as well. I've been to Crescent before during a quiet time and no problems at all.
I've SUP'd with mates by Racecourse Campsite with no one else out, with amazing waves. Sure you'll be fine, maybe just stay away from the main point breaks...
+for point Plumer and beaches along the 15km to Point Plumer. Also a camp site before Plumer I think it might have Power sites.
Thanks everyone for the feedback. Got some good places to check out AND keep the locals happy ![]()
Cheers
How many days you got, what time of year. My suggestion is jump in car head straight to Soldiers beach, do the rock channel its like a tradition. Lots SUP riders in the area now. Head north to Samurai beach, bit of a nuddie SUP, great beach. Next Head up to Seal Rocks.
Stop in fo paddle at port, the main beach can have nice wave on southern swell, any of beaches at port are good. Then drive up to crescent. Crescent is good, I like scotts head better. Pm me for any spots between Sydney and Port Macquarie.
