sounds great, but the guarantee is that for full cash back or only to swap with another JL board??? always keen on the JL brand but no stockist here in Vico.

I bought a Striker off Rob at the weekend. Couldn't recommend him more, passionate about the sport and great advice on how to get the most out of the boards.
The board finish is in a different league to the cobra boards I have had before too.

Hi Brown, I was looking at the 8'5" World Wide. What don't you like about them?
Muddyisland, had a JL WW for about a month and went out on it nearly everyday. I would consider myself intermediate and was looking for a user friendly board as i am out there for abit of fun and to catch as many waves as i can. I found the world wide very unstable and not so user friendly. Also gave a few of the guys i go out with a go on it and they couldnt wait to give it back. I was looking for a board to step down to from a starboard whopper 9.5 to something a bit smaller that would improve my ability. The WW was really light and a well made board but i think i should have done more research and tried before i bought anything , could have saved myself a few dollars . (and a heap of time and effort climbing back on the thing).

Yes, coming from a whooper you should look for smaller boards, but with wider noses. If you want to stay with JL that could be the Destroyer, or Super Frank, or even the kwad. Or their noserider shapes, of course.

My weight is around 90 kg plus winter wetsuit and my friend is around the same...maybe heavier.....and around 6 ft tall. Not sure your weight and height....the board size might have been more suited to you? I'm happier on a fuller template...with around 135 plus litres. You can only really know by demoing unfortunately. One person's tippiness can be another person's stability. And of course there's the skill factor....I know another guy who rides his 8,5 in everything no problem. Same height as me but lighter and better skills.
Hi Brown, sorry you didn't like your WW but at 8'9"x31"x4.40" (141L) there is a lot of volume & stability there unless you're 125kg plus but i remember discussing it with you (plus you got it on sale)... It is a completely different board to a Whopper so there would be a bit of a transition.... I'm 82 kg & 53 yo & ride the 7'9 & 8'1 WW & find it super stable especially in onshore conditions..

You must have ninja skills....three of us tried the 8,5 and all three found it tippier than expected. I was on an 8,8 widebody .....waaaaaay more stable. I'm usually on bigger boards so guess not used to it. We are all intermediate.

Nope, the 8,5. I only had half an hour on it....but coming from what I was used to it was certainly tippier than I expected. My pal sold it on as he wasn't getting enough time on it to get used to it. Reckon I would have been okay in the next one up.
Would getting it on sale affect the stability? If you're selling SUP'S and telling people boards are SUPER stable should they not be at very best stable. Spending alot of money ( i my opinion ) on a board you recommend as the next step down from a WHOPPER but only to find i have to be a NINJA to ride it seems to me you need to be more clear on SUPER STABLE.
Once again i thank you for your advice on board selection and i hope you sell alot of boards in the future.

I have a 7'9 WW and it use it in all conditions, a mate has the 8'1.
We both find them to be super stable.
Hi Brown, again I'm sorry you didn't like your 8'9 WW & based on what you said it was a logical step down from your 9'5 if you wanted to increase your performance but only you know your ability level & limitations & what's super stable for one person isn't necessarily so for another...No the sale price didn't affect the stability but hopefully it eased the pain on parting with your hard earned $$$ & at least you shouldn't have lost any money on it... it could have been worse & you could have paid full price...
Yes Jimmy is still producing the WW & it has a good following but now that there's the Super Frank & the Destroyer you can cover your bases with either of those... BTW I've been selling boards & giving advice to people for over 20 years having owned 3 surf shops (board stores) but you can only give advice on the information customers give you....

Have had an 8'5" WW for quite awhile and its a great stable board in all conditions , moved to something smaller and GF rides it now and loves it 
,both came off a 9'1" Kwad and it was a good size to step down onto from that .
